We've all had pilots bail out on us just to avoid a fight....

If they're so concerned over score
They are not else they wouldn't bail (hurts score)

Quote
1.  You can't bail if your aircraft hasn't been damaged.

So they just auger or rip wings

Quote
2.  Crashing without another player shooting you hurts your score more than if another player gets a kill.

See above - they don't do it to protect their score because it doesn't work that way. If you fight or at least try to escape, you may die. If you just bail, you die for sure.

Buff bailers used to be a big problem a while back. Dont see as many of them now thankfully but its really annoying when you grab to their alt just to see them bail without attempting a fight. Nobody ever admits that they do it so i film it and review who it was so i can poke them abit on 200 ;). It used to be alot of that from a  specific squad that mostly lived in EW/MW. Their usual defence when i confront them is that they lose points if shot down. I try to explain that they lose em when when bailing too and that they lose potential points for killing me, but to no avail.

This made me think that they might be concerned about their score.

No argument is needed to say that they are concerned about your score.

I don't even take the time to play much anymore, and I've even noticed the "run away" or "bail" tactic, even in a potential one vs. one. My Yak is not that intimidating, especially in my inept hands. :frown:

Don't worry I've been flying Spit 1's and P40E's and still have them run away. It's nothing to do with the plane, just most of them don't want to fight. It's the new thing these days..

I'd bet that many of them are more interested in capturing the base they just hit than they are concerned about their scores. Putting myself in the shoes of someone who's ONLY trying to take bases, it makes real sense to get out of the plane as quickly as possible and get to the maproom before down times expire.

OTOH, if those guys really are worried about their scores then they understand so little about the system that talking to them is pointless. Either way I've learned to grumble into my coffee and move on to the next target.

Common sense is trying to not be an idiot right now

because its a ride normally used by newbs and runners. With the odd exception.

And yet I always see far more runners in other kinds of airplanes. By far there are more runners in runstangs and run90s. The LA-7s Ive seen almost always turn and fight. The only time I run if is I have no gas to fight.

And I get a kick out of some of the names I see pop up in the marquee landing kills after a good session of running away. I guess landing kills is important to your score. :lol
Ill bet more noobs ride runstangs anyway. Not that any of you were ever noobs once.

I cant answer that Max. I dont hang out with those kinds of guys. Thanks for chirping in tho.

Yesterday I divebombed a base in a Jug to kill ords and went right into a Hornets nest. I ended up getting chased by 5 or 6 fighters. After about a minute I said to myself, "what the hell am I running for its only a cartoon airplane game"? So I turned and emptied my guns at everyone I could before getting kilt. Cause who cares?

So when I hear these pre-post, "I was in a Lghay-7 but almost never fly them", Im kinda reminded that Homo-Sapien, and then Storch, are basically herd animals and feel better when they run with the pack.

Well this is America, the land of the individual, so pump that chest out and jump into an LA-7 each and any time you want to. You aren't required to give legal disclaimers in the forum when you talk about them. If some of these guys want to look at your crotch when you come out of a bathroom then its on them. Alternative lifestyles are with us and theres nothing we can do about them.

As for the LA-7? You go dude. Join the rest of us and make these 20,000k alt/monkey cherry picking run dweebs sweat.

No such thing.  It was simply a statement of fact which also allowed me to briefly comment on the plane itself, which I had no idea was such a nice plane (clearly superior to the La-5 which I fly somewhat regularily).

Having piloted 76 different panes/vehicles in the LWA's over the past six months and 24 so far this camp there were only 19 (now 18 which include bombers, chutes, etc.) that I hadn't scored a kill or a death in so I thought I'd add the La-7 to the list of those I had piloted.

I didn't feel bad about flying it.  It's just that I rarely do.

BTW, I fly the Spit XVI a lot and don't feel bad about that either.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

1.)  Easily circumvented with a self-effectuated disco.
2.)  Good idea.

In EW you see that alot. I was in there over the weekend denying milkrunners. Was fun for awhile. Seems like a great place for new folks to get their feet wet though.
