lockup and CTD again and again...
« on: April 20, 2008, 06:47:11 PM »
I've got no clue here. I reduced my textures to 256, reloaded AH and VC drivers (84.66 on 7900GT). Sound was at 3/4 and even 1/2, system has 21 processes running and nothing but AH loaded. Ran everything totally maxed out prior to the new release. Swapped out memory just in case.

At this point if I cant figure it out sometime soon I'll just move along, games not worth playing like this and I cant find a single thing wrong with the box. I know at least 5 guys in my squad have similiar issues of varying magnitude.

P5K-e MB
Intel 6600 CPU
2 G OCZ platinum 1066 Mem
650W PC P&C p/s
7900GT VC
Windows xp sp2

The only thing I can think of is an IRQ conflict. My VC is on IRQ 16 with my cpu chipset express root and USB host controller among others (5 in all). System wont give me access to manually shift it elsewhere. It's been so long since i've played with IRQ's I dont even no if this is an issue. My sound (onboard but thats never been an issue) is on its own IRQ. The other possibility is a memory dump of some kind but I cant find any conflicts there either (doesnt mean that one doesnt exist).

At this point I'm totally baffled here, any thoughts or suggestions appreciated...

Sounds like you are on QWest network.  Try running a Ping Plotter to 206.16.60.38 and see what happens.  Let it run for a few minutes.
