I think that email is a fabrication to draw attention to the situation. I'm sure its not far from the truth though.

There was a country in africa that was doing well... Rhodesia.

Have read a few books on the Boer war.. pretty interesting.

TentyFo should catch a plane to Khartome, Adis Ababe, Nirobe, Joville, Entebee or any sub Saharan city by himself and walk out into the city and try to find a hotel or a cab somewhere. In some cities he will simply be robbed by crowds of children who smell like open sewers.

Some just like killing westerners any chance they can..........so if you want to bring first world economies, infrasturcture and morality to africa, sure you have to ride some serious herd on the locals to keep civilisation running on the Dark Continent.......but then TwentyFo likes livin in da USA and blinding us with his kombaya dreams of africa via the Discovery Channel.

Morality is in the eye of the beholder. We base our morality on western ideas, mainly
Christianity. Who is to say that it is the "right" way to do things? Morality is a concept that varies everywhere in the world. What is moral to you and I, may not be moral to someone in sub-saharan Africa.

Militant supporters of Robert Mugabe descended on some of Zimbabwe’s last white-owned farms yesterday in an orchestrated campaign of intimidation designed to keep him in power.

THE grim reality of Zimbabwe’s postelection violence as President Robert Mugabe clung to power was hammered home last week when an elderly white farmer was abducted by so-called “war veterans” who tried to lynch him.

Dowding, i'm in agreement. The email is a fabrication but there's thruth in it.

More than half the white farmers in zimbabwe have had their land confiscated recently.  Judging from the article below, one of the first things which is done is to shoot the animals.  Hardly a sensible thing to do in a country which has undergone an agricultural collapse and may possibly enter a famine without international help.

Well excuse me, what do we have here another post police. You stated the facts were false. I posted two articles within the last 2-3 weeks proving you wrong.

I love posts like this.

So what you're saying is that morals vary and that we should not be judgemental of other people's morals?

Is that it?

Basically then you are OK with the Janjaweed militia's killing of Christians in the Sudan? After all, I'm sure it seems moral to them.

And if these witchdoctor's killing kids for the majical properties of their blood stories are true, then you are OK with that as well?

What I'm reading from you is that there is no right or wrong, only situational ethics or morals.

A fairly concise statment of relativism.  It starts with the premise that there are no absolutes but fails because there is an absolute implict in the premise itself.  I credit the leftist madrassas that the education system has devolved to for this strain of thought.

Me personally, I am not fine with it. But if that's what they want to do, then that's what they will do. So, yes, I am opposed to it. But what can I do? The answer is nothing. The United States and the UN, or any other country, will continue to do nothing to stop this. We are too caught up in the hell hole called Iraq.

The point I was trying to make in my post, was that I'm really tired of people in the US thinking they're better than everyone else in this world. Just because someone lives in a hut in Africa, doesn't make them an undecent human being. Just because someone dresses in a Birkah or worships numerous gods, doesn't make them a bad person. All I want is for everyone to be accepting people's differences.

Iraq has nothing to do with stopping it. If we had never gone into Iraq, this would still be happening and nothing would be done. Your Iraq allusion is merely a red herring.

You are simply right that neither the UN or any individual or coalition of countries will attempt to stop this. All that is necessary for the forces of evil to triumph is for enough good men to do nothing. Well, we've completely arrived. Because of the moral relativism that is so ominpresent in world society, more than enough good men do nothing.

I suppose you might wearily concede that we are possibly better than folks that kill children for their majical blood?

Even the murderous differences that result in hundreds of thousands dying in the Sudan? Or just the clothing and housing differences?

Ah, I see.

So what do we do about the blood drinkers, murderers and other human rights abusers that a drowning these African countries in sorrow?

Also, since the normal everyday world citizen in these countries is the same as we are, how do you explain what was posted earlier? Many (most?) of these countries had a functional infrastructure/society that allowed them to at least feed the population. How is it that starvation is now a major threat and the cities have deteriorated into dangerous cesspools of filth, disease and murder? What's the explanation for that?
