I've been running diesel from truck stops for over 4 years now. I just bought fuel today, 97 gallons at $3.99 a gallon. I have to say that I have not bought "hot" fuel at any time. The tanks are underground at Flying J's. The fuel I purchased today was far far colder than the ambient temperature of about 80 degrees. I have yet to buy fuel that is as warm as the outside temperature in the summertime.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

That's because no one fuels at flying J's. :lol You couldn't make me fuel in a flying J unless i was flat out of fuel. 97 gallons isn't a good indicator either as your drawing from the bottom of the tank. You probably got lucky but for a true indication you need to get a thermometer that will go in your tank, fill your tank and then wait about 5 min. Read the temp and then start recording it at every stop. 97 gallons is a drop in the bucket, when i fill up i take between 200 and 250 gallons every time. A proper fuel tank system should deliver fuel below the ambient temp. as it's stored below ground. A good rule of thumb is if you have let it across your fingers and it feels like warm pee it's "hot" fuel and your being ripped off. Maybe you got lucky, then again maybe you were sucking the bottom of there tanks and your fuel filters going to clog soon. :O
