Soriano broke his hand.  I didn't expect the wheels to start coming off until after the all star break.   Ohh noes!

He was just now starting to get comfortable with his legs and starting to run again the in the last week to ten days. I think the Cubs can weather this injury(barring any further ones).

Soriano is so injury prone it's unreal. :O So far the season has been a blast and almost surreal. I don't think his loss will impact them to much right now and actually it's probably fortunate it happened now instead of later. We'll see what happens today and the next 3 games but i don't think they'll miss him to much. If Derrick Lee gets hot again and picks up the slack they won't miss a beat IMO. :aok

Funny how they never get injured until after they sign a big contract. They are not getting 17m a years worth out of this guy.

It'll be fine,  Soriano will be back around the begining of August and will be hitting and running well before the last week of August.  He will be back in time to pick up the slack from a worn out and tired team.  They have enough depth and plenty of other power hitters to cope with his temporary loss.   :aok

I don't want to hear any whining about the Cubs. Try having the Texas Rangers as your home team. :furious

Jeeezzz how weird was the win over the braves? They pick up Jim Edmonds who most thought was washed up and he hits a homer to tie the game, then they load the bases, and the guy on the team hit by pitches most gets hit and walks in the wining run? :O Unreal. :D

This is what I'm trying to say Ric, these guys get wins as a team, no one is really dominating the stats, no one player is carrying the team.  They all have their roles to play and they play them well.  All season long they have been manufacturing their runs "get 'em on, move 'em up, get 'em in."  Unlike in seasons past where the top hitters, i.e. Sosa, would hack at every pitch and strike out a lot, every body on this team is being more selective at the plate and they aren't ashamed to take a walk and let the next batter be the hero and hit it out (or more likely hit a base hit or double.)

You are going to also need CSN= Comcast Sports Net.  They split the games between to two stations.

Good man.  Wait until you start bleeding "cubbie blue".  And catch a game at Wrigley this year, you won't be disappointed.
