Yeah this is indeed a sad day in Wrigleyville, Wrigley Field was indeed built on a boulevard of broken dreams.

But never say die, and maybe the Cubs can pull this one out their ass.

I used to like the cubbies but after some astro games and hanging around the astros boards, the cubbie fans were hands down the worst people on earth.

Even worse than red socks fans if you can believe it.

Quick, find the descendant of the Billy Goat and slaughter it promptly.

Those three botched ground balls last night were curse-o-rific!

I'm a little surprised Pinella obviously doesn't have this team ready to play Oct. baseball, "tho hes been accused of that in the past". I'm even more surprised they haven't won a playoff game yet. I'm more of a Sox fan but still I "feel the pain" of Cubs fans This year is an even worse one then 1969 was, and I sure remember that one, the choke of '84, the choke of '03, and the total breakdown of '04.

This year they actually have the team that can, and should, go all the way. But coming back from an 0-2 start against a team as hot as the Dodgers? I dont think thats going to happen. They are probably going to lose tomorrows game and then The Cubs ownership is going to have to break up this team. They cant win in Oct. and theres no point keeping it together.

Problem is they are saddled with some big, big contracts. Soriano?? They couldn't give him away, Fukadome too. Dempsters going to want big money as a starter cause his contract is up now so hes gone. Their catcher Soto, whos had a huge year, is going to want a ton of dough. And others coming off of good years, with contracts up too, are going to want big pay hikes. Guys like Theriot, Marshall, Marmol, Fontenot, and Cedeno.

They already have a huge team payroll of 120 million. And for what? For a team that cant win an Oct. game? I'll bet they have 55 million sunk this year into Soriano, Ramirez, Lee, and Fukadome, and not one of them have an OCT RBI this year. Soriano is batting .111 this Oct, Fukadome is hitting .000, Ramirez .250, and Lee .429 but again no RBIs between the 4 of them. Soriano has a playoff BA of .219 with an OBP of .271 out of 169 at bats in his career during Oct. And this is your LOF? An OBP of .271? Ramirez has a playoff BA of .203 out of 17 playoff games. Lee hit a .242 in 22 playoff games.

Wear a Sox shirt on the N. side of Chicago and you'll spend most of your day running from sweaty palmed gay activists.

Go into a small restaurant or bar and expect to be sneared at, then asked to leave because of dress code. :(

Yup, they gonna have to blow it up and start over....odd tho, I don't want to seem like a Monday morning quarterback but all this season the vision of Lou's 116 something odd win Mariners team kept flashing through my head. :frown:
Whats funny is that I'm apparently on suicide watch. All my buddies are calling and leaving concerned sounding(dude, you ok right?)messages, asking if I'm alright and making sure I didn't "do anything stupid" . :lol

Ah, all is right with the world.

For a moment I was afraid it was the time of the Second Coming and the Kingdom of Heaven was at hand.
