Theres a DA right? Is there a DA rule to only allow 1 on 1 fights? If not there should be. Last time i checked the DA I saw that some bone head attack Dars in there. Now who in their right mind would attack a Dar in a dueling arena?

The only answer to all this gamey play is to get rid of the rank system, at least in the MAs. Keep one in the DA if guys want to pit their skills against each other, which is cool.

I know there are some guys so good at this game that "most" of their high ranks are attributed to skill. But even these few have to fly and fight a certain way to game the game and stay ahead of the pack doing the same thing. And you aren't going to do it by diving P-38s into the ack of a large airfield to take out ords with rockets, with red all around you.

Even better have contests where rank can be assigned in the DA with 1 on 1s at co-alt. Seeing these tops guys fight each other 1 on 1 would make for great training material. CV control can be dished out by seniority in the game.

Impossible to judge anything in such a situation without seeing it.
Hit sprites can be anywhere.. talk is cheap, films are telling. I usually only believe what I see on film, not what someone thinks to have seen during combat.

You can think you are hitting him good, while a film may reveal something different. I learned that the hard way by watching my own mistakes, err, films

Well, I am new at this so I could be wrong I guess  So, really what you are saying is that you are not looking for an explanation other than I did not hit him right?  If you are, assume I did and explain why nothing happened.  I know everything is perfect and the players are wrong but have you ever been in the DA when it is porked?  That is when you can unload on people but bullets have no effect?  Known bug and they fix it by reseting the arena.  So, if it is only your FE that matters, how come everyones FE breaks at the same time and an arena reset fixes it?  Just saying, film or no film, Lusche believes or Lusche does not believe dos not change the fact that it happens. 

In any case, I did not ask you but at list you took the time to answer.  I'd like the "period" expert to explain also.

If I was convinced of that, I would not have said "we need film". I would just have said: "You suck!"

I'm just using Occam's Razor: Use the most plausible explanation. If someone says: "I pumped him full of bullets but did no damage" the most probable explanation (from my experience) is: It's not the way the player thinks it was.
But again, as I can rule out nothing, I would need to see the film of that incident. I like to base my judgement on facts

Lusche, I believe that you English is improving more and more each day, regardless of what you say. 

I also, am inclined to believe film.  There are too many variables involved in an online sim to believe what I see, even as it's happening.  There are plenty of times I swore "X"  happened and when I watched film, it was actually the complete opposite.

I just found this topic during a search and wanted to share my Sergeant Major's thoughts on it: Combat is a Team Sport. One on One combat means you have made a mistake, or that you are in the DA, which has been placed there for just that reason. I will ALWAYS dive in to help a country or squad mate that is in trouble.

=D let people enjoy the game the way they want. I enjoy 1 on 1, or sometime bnz or soemtime getting gang bang or doing the gang bang. Totally up to the mood of the day.

Sometime taking off at a capped by and defend it is really fun, and sometime vulching a capped base is really fun too. So who care! just go w/ the mood of the game. If you want 1 v 1 I suggest look for place on the map where's it's not a full red dar bar (duh), i found a lot of 1 v 1 that way when I want to do 1 v 1. If I wanna do 1 v multiple I'd go to where the full red dar bar is (duh). If I wanna join a vulch fest, I'd just go where the full green dar bar is (duh). So why are you complaining, when you could control the game play yourself? think much ?

oh, and we should probably stop taking bases and only fly the way the furballers want.  It's kinda like the fighter pilot mafia which pretty much ran the USAF until recently, and only saw things from thier view.

well mid war isn't the answer anymore either was in there last nite. there was between 30 to 40 players on and when you looked at the map you see 2 or 3 small dar bars up then when you check the map there's just about no one in the tower and you see all these kills landed in gv's and the bases are being taking so i lefted to check out LW could'nt stay there my frame rate went down below 10 so went to dueling arena that ok for awhile. went back to mid and there was about 60 on now thought that was cool but turned into a LW ho athon and gangathon
