Helicopters... GOOD IDEA OR BAD??

Obviously planes can shoot at the helicopters and the helicopters will have 2x50 calibers (Browning machine gun) on each side to shoot at enemy troops and close range planes. The amount of ammo that should be mounted on the 50 cals should be 250 rounds each.

Also, you cant say that this is stupid like having subs or making more GV's because it comes into the fact that AH is an air rial combat game and helicopters are in that category.

Didn't WWII medical rescue helicopters mount 4 20mm cannon as opposed to 2 .50s?

I'm not saying that it's stupid like having subs, because as you pointed out AH IS an aerial combat game. And Helicopters and WWII fighters duked it out all the time. Heck even George Bush Sr. was picked up by a Helicopter after he was shot down in WWII. Oh, wait, That was a submarine that picked him up! We need subs in the game!

The thread starter seems to have missed his mark.

I'm not advocating for helicopters, but to be included, think of them as a flying jeep without a 50 cal., and using GV spawn points. Advocating for pilot rescue has been asked for many times over the years, so that's probably not going to get your helicopter. No, the best you might, and it's a big might, someday have, would be a helicopter capable of carring one or two troops, or a load of vehicle supplies. You'd be lucky to have a pistol for protection. Still, it would be fun to see how htc would implement it. Ten helicopters skimming over the treetops would be something to see even if it never happened in wwii.

I hear Airwolf and Blue Thunder went back into time to prevent Pearl Harbor, but were foiled by the lack of a power source to fully appear in that period due to the current fuel prices.

People the USS Arizona sank in WWII along with its two medical rescue helicopters.

Do you read yours? They had recovery aircraft and spotting aircraft that could be launched from catapults, but no helicopters.

Wow, and German Aircraft bombing Pearl Harbor? What are you getting this from, I've seen stupid stuff, but "a stupid is, is a stupid does" isnt gonna cut it here.
