It may be splitting hairs, but its much more folk (think Johnny Horton and/or Wood Guthrie)

depends on what song your listening to. "gonna shine up my boots" and "family reunion" are much more country than folk.

Oh sure, add a banjo, and it's country!  :D

Family Reunion kills me. Just kills me. I wonder if we can get him to play the next CON?

Mac,

Given your advanced years, I'm distressed to not see CCR on your inclusive list.

You know what always chaps my ass? "Long cool woman in a black dress" isn't by CCR.

Under normal circumstances, I could give a toejam, but the idea that Allan Clarke could sound  more like John Fogerty, than John himself is puzzling to me. I mean, compare "Bus Stop" to "Long cool woman" I reall wish I better understood what was gong on there. It really seems like those to would have had to have been connected.

Hollies

Dam good song.

And odd as it may sound, that song is one of the reasons that every Wed. is Romantic Dinner night. Funny how these threads come full circle.

Dam good song.

A very strange conceptual video for "The Air That I breathe" that was on the "Long Cool Woman" link.  This is my favorite Hollies song.
