Take a look at this thread, toonces, it's not really old, just a month IIRC, and you can understand why the furball area and DA in general have become like that.

I still like your avatar.

@ Blooz,
I'm sure you've read enough "I hate HO's because of a, b, c..."  That's not the point of my thread.  I know the simple answer is "if you don't want to get shot, don't get in front of the other guy's guns."  I got that Blooz, I got it the first time I started a HO thread, and I got it everytime somebody like me starts another one.  There are times, no matter how hard I try, where I simply cannot avoid a head on merge.
In general, not always, I hold off on shooting.  Not always, but most of the time.  It just depends.  But, in the DA I held my guns everytime.  Why?  Because what possible difference does a kill mean in the DA to me other than the fun of achieving it?  I get no points, it doesn't count for a ranking, in fact is it even possible to see how I did in there a year from now?  So why shoot a guy in the face instead of fighting him?

It's an honest question.

@Yossarian,
I appreciate your response.

The answer could be, for some folks, they just like pissing people off.  Others maybe just have this thing where they shoot anything that crosses into their sites.

Is that it then?  Is the solution to getting aggravated when I lose a HO engagement to just start doing it all the time no matter what, and then I can't get mad when it happens to me?

@Yossarian,
If you want to land your planes in the DA, go right ahead.  Like I said, I've only been in there a handful of times since I've been playing this game, but it seems like a waste of good fighting time to me.  But that's just me.  The truth is, if I start landing my kills I'm going to start looking at my K/D, and if I look at my K/D I'm going to try to improve it, and doggone it, I already fly like that in the MA.
I don't think it's dweeby like I said above.   It does feel a bit weird to auger a plane, it's not something I usually do, but it seems like a waste of my time to drive all the way home to land DA kills for no good reason.

@Dedalos,
Bud, it took me a year, but I think I've finally come around to your way of thinking.  As many times as we argued about the AvA setup, I see your point very clearly now.
You were right, I was wrong.

No hard feelings gents, just honest questions here.  <S>

Furball area is nothing but target practise. So what, people try to ho. if you dont want a ho'er challenge someone to a duel.
If you knew what you were doing you wouldn't complain that much about hoers. they're just low skilled/new. if not practise evading HO's... i can't remember the last time a wannabe ho'er has hit me and not had me get on his six.

when I see someone frequently complain about a ho'er I automatically rate them as poor.

The only bad thing about furball area are people who fly around in gangs at alt in zero's. whole point of elevated fields is so that you'll be able to dive down into the action quickly.. unfortunately people don't do this. they start grabbing for the moon. oh well, I get to practise reversal snapshots.

The thing I like about the guys that ho in the da is that it gives an opportunity to learn the best ways to avoid the ho without any reprocusions on our score. :salute
Amazing you could actually recruit that much suck into one squad.

OK, lets cut the BS here.  We keep accusing the new guys of all this but guess who they learned from.  When the furball area in the DA got started, I was repeatedly asked to go there and join the fight by some of "fighters".  So after the name calling was done with, I joined in.  Guess what, as soon as I got into a fight, one of the bad arse pilits that want to give hints to others  :rofl on how to play the game, dives in for the pick.  After the third pick I asked what was the deal with that and the responce I got from the vets/dog fighters/aces/bad arse pilits was "comon Ded, its a furball.  What do you expect".  (I hear some have moved to Tibet since but lets cut the BS).  When the vets do it and defend it, the new guys will follow.  So, without reading that thread, I can tell you in general how things have become like that.  We made them like that  :O

i have to agree with dedalos on this one. and then they take the tactics into the MA's and we wonder why they do it in there. Good call Dedalos! <S>
