How about a gladiator or a fiat cr 42 or the russia I153

the Hs-123 was already obsolete at the start of the war. Slow, small loadout, small guns, hangar queen.

That applies to any biplane you could add. Most have a top speed in the 200mph area and almost all that I've seen so far are armed with 2 rifle caliber machine guns.

Gloster Gladiators had a top speed of, IIRC, ~265mph and were armed with four .303 machine guns.  I believe the CR.42 of the Italians was faster and comparably armed.
