The lock time is 10 minutes every 2 hours.  So, when let's say I lock it at minute 1, CV (if its up and out of harms way), it cannot be locked until 120 minutes later.  In all practicallity, CV's that are locked would probably be sunk within those 2 hours anyways.

Which makes the "lock" actually pretty useless as most probably the CV isn't "lockable" at all when you want to use that feature, because someone else had already expended the lock time available.
If there is a "lock" button, people will click it - just because they can. So it will be extremely rare that you will be able to lock it when you need it.

HiTech needs to give this suggestion some careful thought.  If Combat Tour wasn't coming out in September, I would have already decided to drop my subscription to Aces High in July over this one issue.  I'm sure many others agree.

Heck, why wait....TIME'S A WASTIN'!!!!

Why would it be useless?  If you are 10-15 minutes away from CV optimal stiking distance defined: Enough time to climb and get speed up and commence attack, then it is a coordinated tool option that would be efficient.

On your point, maybe the 2 hour feature plus radar ring - radar ring edge tip when you could turn it on (overlapping dar rings another words).  That way some noob won't lock it at the "wrong" time.

I still feal the commander should be able to lock it period.  We give him the ability to control the direction it goes, why not allow full control.  Countless times ive tried to set a CV up for a base attack for it all to end when some noob ups from it while half a sector away or just by himself, giving away the position and ruining a perfect attack plan.

Lock? No. Too easily abused.

Now, if you want to give priority to the highest ranked player ON the CV.....

In the end, I don't see HTC giving players the ability to prevent other players from using a field when they want to, with a simple command.

You can dodge auto ack, you can run under puffy ack alt, you can give 5" gunners a fast target they can't track, you can bomb wirbels... but as a "(currently) top10 ranked pilot and a married creature I can assure you:

damn,  i tried.  Still think its a good idea to come up with some way to keep unwanted use of the CV during an operation.  There has to be some sort of compromise that would work.  maybe they could make it so once the cv is in dar range that is when its lockable and only for a mission?  and put a 15 minute time limit on each lock period?  that would give enough time to shell the town and fielf before planes up?
