Lost my dog.
« on: June 12, 2008, 07:45:14 PM »
He whined like a baby when we got him...Watta pup.
Golden Retriever.. pure bred.
I slept with him in the Livingroom for a few nights until he got accustomed to his new home.
He had a favorite pillow, blanket and a stuffed ugly toy called "Hootie". Every morning when I let him out he'd drag the pillow, then the blanket and Hootie out into the backyard. Funny as hell to watch.
Plus he always had a red bandana around his neck... made him look kewl.
I'd fish from the bank of the pond and he was at first afraid of the water.  He lost his bandana once on the bank and sadly looked at me to get it back.  After 3 or 4 casts I pulled it in...he was thinking it was his again, I held it from him... he whined and begged for it.  He got it back.
First time he barked in the garage he sounded hugh...he liked that. Puppy training.
I had two Daughters at the time and I'd take him into the pool shed, Daughters would run all over the back yard and hide... send him out to find them and he's pick up the scent and follow it...find them both... over and over again.
One Easter after Church I rehid the eggs in the backyard for my Daughters to hunt again...with Oryan with me. 30 minutes later I brought the girls out and Oryan had all the eggs in a pile, chest out, proud of himself...LOL
He protected my young Son from getting near the pool. Always placing himself between Jake and the pool. Oryan also had his own lil inflatable raft... he wasn't allowed to get into the pool cuz of hair...but I'd let him in after the wifey went to bed.  Oryan was very protective of his raft. It was a good game to try and swip it.
Okay I'm rambling now... Oryan was a great dog and a good friend.
He got sick 2 days ago and went downhill fast.
I brought him into the house yesterday to doctor him up...he wouldn't eat. Made sure he was drinking water.
Slept last night on the Livingroom floor next to him. At 5am he laid next to me and quit breathing.
He was 13 Years old and a great friend.
Today I lost my dog.

Sorry to hear it Mac. It's hurts as bad as losing a family member because they are.

Sorry to hear about your loss, it's something we know will happen to our dogs, but not easy to experience.  We had a Golden too, he was just the best dog.  It took quite a while to get over losing him.

Nooooooooooo     :cry

Mac....they ARE family members.  My four legged kids are just as much a family as any other family.  Their love is unconditional, they dont talk about you, and they never lie.  How much more can you ask.

My heart goes out to you.

They were lucky to have you.

You were lucky to have them.

:salute To you and the fuzzy loved, and lost.
