I am far from a country music fan, but with 25 years in radio I DO understand how difficult it can be to even get into a studio, much less have something properly mixed and ready for the biz!   :aok

Good luck sir and I hope someday you stand on the stage at the CMA and take home a nice trophy.

Sabre........ congrats ... I really enjoyed listening to it.  Best of luck with it.

If I could offer two things that stuck out as I was listening:

1. "The Man They Need Me To Be" .. the guitar needs to be potted down...it's far too dominant, and takes away from the vocals and melody.

2. "Don't Give Up On Me"  BEST song of the bunch...has a lot of commercial appeal ...but it's SCREAMING for a fiddle/violin solo...

Good ear, ZetaNine. Thanks for the feedback.  Regarding "Don't Give Up On Me", it's my favorite, too.  I wrote it for my son when he graduated high school (he's autistic).  It has cello and strings in the background, though no solo.  I let the guitar pretty much carry the song, with only very light accompanyment (a "less is more" strategy in this case).  I would have liked to include a musical bridge for the violin (love the sound of it), but it was already 5 minutes long (and this is the short version).  In fact, the length is the main reason it will have trouble getting air-time on terrestrial radio.  It has been played numerous times on internet radio, at the following links...

and
America's Freedom Broadcast Radio at www.afbradio.us

ROX, thanks. Yeah, I hope never to forget that the fans are what it's about.

I completely understand your hesitancy to chop it up.....as most labels would have you do.  nevertheless......it truly is a great song...and the fact that it's dedicated to your son only makes it that much better.  keep pumping out the tunes and let the creativity flow.....before anything...your music has to satisfy YOU.

your 1st batch is gone.
ordered 3, one for house, one for car, one for backup.
said they didn't have enough on hand to fill the order and put it on back order.
oh well guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer.

was just going to get 2, but that is a good price.

Yeah, I was notified of the back order and they'll have more in a couple days.  Thanks very much for your support, and I'm very glad you like what you hear, DieAz.

Getback, I hope you can say that some day, too. :)

Sabre,

Do you have any stats on your sales?  Where your customers are buying from?  Is there a ranking, top 1,000 country or something?  I don't even know what gold, platinum, silver mean as far as numbers.  Do they have brass, copper and nickel for newbies?  Does CD baby have exclusive rights to your sales?

I give him six months and he’ll be stage diving, trashing hotel rooms, biting the heads off of bats, being chased everywhere by teenage groupies and paparazzi, crash his Ferrari and his Porsche and his F-650 pick-up and his horse, spew cow blood on the audience at all of his concerts…

Naw, that was last week.  I'm gonna do some reeeeaaallllyyyyyy crasy stuff six months from now...got it all planned out.

Seriously, I actually get a report on sales from CD Baby.  And no, they don't have an exclusive marketing deal, though they ask artists to be sensible.  For instance, don't offer it for direct sale at a lower price.  CD Baby has arrangements with iTunes and other digital music sellers for them to also carry my music, and it only makes sense not to undercut them.  For instance, the local Barnes & Nobles carries my CD, but at the same price it lists for on CD Baby.

Do you have an agent?  Are you physically shipping the cases to CD baby yourself?  Who did the album cover?  Did you record in a professional studio or in a home studio?
