:huh
The top speed of the Spitfire Mk.XVI in game is over 400 mph.

Not in level flight at any altitude.

Well since know one else has brought this up yet
We need the he-111 we need it because it fills a gap and there is no need to add anything before this.

I wasn't considering WEP.  You'll notice without WEP it never hits 400.  Even with WEP it only does so from ~18-25000 feet.  If you're WEPing that high it's usually because your engaged, not flying along at 400+.

Every "top speed" in the game uses WEP, hehehe...

Almost every top speed in WW2 tests also uses max power settings, otherwise it's not "max" speed, just "middle" speed  :D :aok

The hurricane, p40s, zeros, ki61, all have suspect flight models and early-era graphics models.

I've noticed this too, it seems our zero has far to many parts for some reason...

Yes, the F6F is too slow at altitude.  Has this always been the case?

Yes...

Should easily top 400 (406-409) mph at altitude (around 22k). It does no better than 386 mph. Heck, the F6F-3 could do 391 mph.

Speed below 15k (or there about; I have the data in my notebook) is correct, or close enough.

There's Navy test data showing 393 mph at MIL power (no WEP) and around 408 mph with WEP. Just remember that WEP lowers the critical altitude some.

The reason it has little effect on game play is that few F6Fs will be found above 15k.
