fighter/attack annoying ....

the fact that the fighter category pops in automatically all the time and kills of vehicles are not counted for fighter score but being killed by vehicles count, make the jabo thing _really_ annoying. I had at least a dozen of good jabo mission ending up screwed because my VH kills didn't count ...

fix THAT. it's not that hard. Fighter with dirtload on == automatic attack category. Fighter without payload == figher!

Let me get this straight...

You forget to click the correct button and it is HTC's fault?

Hi All,
Stupid question probably (So If ya gonna flame me at least include the answer in the flame).     Why do we have "Attack" or "Fighter" configurations. Why not just have points for each kill/target? (I don't mean the same number of points no matter what you are flying I am quite happy with the "weighting" system as it is now). I just think "A kill is a kill". It causes the same amount of damage to the enemy war effort so should be awarded as such. If you are returning from a Jabo with your "Attack" score and you tangle with a con why shouldn't you get points if you kill them. Likewise If you are in a fighter configuration but kill a few acks whats wrong with getting points for it? Why have the same target worth x points in one configuration but 0 points in another. why not get the points if you down a con in your buff? Just award the points based on what you are flying and what you hit. ie if you shoot down half the enemy airforce in your ackstar you get the appropriate number of perk points added to your bomber total. If you do the same in a CHOG for instance you get the appropriate number of points but as Fighter perk points. If in an ostie you get them as vehicle perk points

Am I missing something?

hehe...good one funked. Anyways...back to the topic. I'd also like to see any bomb or rocket loaded trigger the attack button by default.

Ok how bout we change view setups so that EVERYTIME we reup in a plane we have to reset our views.  Thats how I compare this request.  Almost all of my fighter sorties are in an La5 or P51.  All of my Jabo (Attack) runs are in an F4U-1C.

It would be nice if the system remembered what your last flight in each plane was scored as OR a selection box similar to what pops up when you enter a mission pops up asking you to choose between fighter and attack scores when you spawn on the runway during a mission.

Completely uncalled for comment IMHO

seperate scoring is a good thing if you ask me.at least now when you risk a jabo you can keep track of how succefull you are being.
If your attack score is good you must be doing a good job

p.s. i generally remember to click attack when i change ordinance for mission. Its right in front of your eyes!

Actually, I've noticed that once I click attack for a sortie it doesn't go back to fighter until I physically click fighter again. For example, I click attack do the sortie and complete i or die or whatever. I go up in plane again with or without bombs not bothering to click attack or fighter and it stays as an attack sortie, but I generally fly the same fighter 95% of the time.

So it sounds like some part of what you suggested is already there.

Snafu. I think it has to do with accuracy% Remember everyone compaining about their accuracy taking a dive because they where shooting buildings? Well if HT counts building hits in your gunnery % then even I would have a high one....But if you select jabo then no shots count towards you A2A gunnery % I would bet.
