I like this idea. A couple of times I've killed myself by pressing secondary trigger rather than wep on takeoff. (I've got them mapped to my stick right by each other.)

It would also be more realistic, I don't think bombs arm unless they fall a certain distance.

Bloom, you are correct sir! Bombs had an inertia-based fuze that had to spin a few hundred times before arming. Kinda like modern 40mm grenades; stop the spin count at 200 (example only) and it won't arm. There was actually a problem in England during WW2 with bombs. Ordinance Men who stood in the bomb bay held the bomb as it was loaded to stop it from swaying. Unfortunately, bombs were known to break loose and crush the poor guy's feet. None ever blew that I know of. All I know is DANG that would hurt!! Now that there's more vehicles in AH, we've got a reason to stop the car-bombing.

Disable bombs on the ground please.

I sure hope so!! Seen it happen too many times, and did it to myself once taking off in a TBM, had to rework my stick settings.

Not that this should be a major concern, but...

If you go up in a P-51 with 1000lb bombs, you cannot land and re-arm on a CV. Once you have re-armed, the P-51 cannot get enough airspeed to take off again (if the 1000lb bombs are re-loaded) And, seeing as they explode, you cannot drop them before taking off again

Disable Bombs on Ground - I don't agree.
But, HTC should simulate bombs model like a FS:SDOE.

I know that this was just kinda thrown in there Midnight... but it serves as a classic example of using realism (bombs not arming) as a justification for unrealistic behavior.

The only time this is an issue is when an M3 is sitting at a map room... or when a plane is vulching a spawn point.

If you don't want the bombs to take out the M3, take the 15 seconds to disable the ammo bunkers.

If you don't want a bomb to blow you up as you vulch, disable the ammo bunkers or don't get so low.

You see, htc already knew this would be a problem. So, the players were enabled to prevent it from happening.

Dont disable bombs on the ground.
Its simply way too much fun to drive a B26 a few miles up to a Panzer or Osti and bomb him on the ground. Plus its very realistic. I cant remember how many 8th Air Force Histories Ive read where the gallant B17s drove acrosss France and Germany fighting out with Tigers and Panthers, those guys sure were heroes......

Anyone who supports car-bombing in any form whatsoever is a dweeb, idiot, amazinhunk, moron retard, quaker, bad for AH person who should simply go away. This is the kind of stuff that could make AH the laughing stock of flight sims and is certainly one of the greatest oversights so far by HTC. Get rid of the damn car-bombing stunt!!!

BTW Honestly DJV how would you be hurt by bombs being disabled on the ground, you seem to be the one most against this. Its not like your scared unimaginative self

will have to do anything to fix it....

I'm against the prolific use of the term "realism" as an argument promoting unrealistic behavior.

The means are there to stop car-bombing. Use it. The fact that people would rather whine about it tells me that people have found a way to sit in a chair, barely moving their body, staring at a monitor and still finding a way to be even lazier. Bomb the fricking ammo dumps.. it is a strategic element added to the game for a specific reason.

Strategically, the main reason is that a base capture should involve risk and sacrifice. If you disable the bombs on the ground, you remove the need to take out the ammo bunkers and bomber hangar. That means you have to risk less to get a base instantly capable of supporting bomber raids after instantly after it is captured. If you want to gaurantee there will be no car-bombing.. you have to sacrifice the use of bombs at the base the second it is captured.
