The main purpose of armoured forces is the offensive. But actually, in AH, vehicles are used in most of the cases for defensive roles. We can take bases using only planes, so, why to use tanks in offensive? They are easy to kill by the HogsC or Tyffies, they are very slow and, with the new version, they'll be very vulnerable to 88 ack defensive fire.
We are loosing the main purpose of armoured forces: The quick control of the terrain. Actually, terrain ownership is determined only by the ownership of bases. But in the real world, terrain ownership is determined by the presence of infantry and mech forces. My proposal is that when a tank advances over not owned territory, it is adding a 4x4 miles square to the friendly controlled
territory, so, the tank is occupying territory while advancing. This idea implies several things:
1 - New scoring factor: square miles conquered.
2 - Map showing owned territory in a different color.
3 - Spawn points from vehicle bases determined by controlled territory with a maximun distance of 30 miles (for example).
4 - When you ditch near an enemy base, but over controlled territory, you are not captured.
5 - Only armoured forces can conquer territory, so you cant use C47 chutes to retake the territory taken by enemy panzers. You'll need to pick up a tank to retake this territory.
6 - When a base is taken, a circle of 12 miles radius around it is added to friendly controlled territory, unless it intersects a zone controled by another enemy base.
7 - Friendly bases always have an 1.5 miles width border of controlled territory around them. Enemy tanks can't conquer that territory, so, enemy APCs cant spawn too close to take the base in seconds, they will need at least 3 minutes to reach the base from the nearest spawn point.
This way we can stablish front lines, being these lines the limits for spawn points of ground forces for any country.
