I hope you have many jumpers.

lots of good recipe swapping, the usual inane debates over the same topics, other than those you haven't missed much 88.

Wow  :aok Most cool to be able to pick up & move to live somewhere else anytime.  If you find any good 'Bessie Coleman' sites up there, I'd be interested in hearing about those.  :aok

Chi town  :aok

Be sure to schedule a weekend at the museum and you can easily eat yourself into a coma at many of the fine restaurants there.

south = bad the further north you go the more umm.. suburb-ish it gets, when you reach Schaumburg you have peaked and it gets rural from there.

If you like trains, the Illinois Railway museum is a cool place to visit.

There may be some interesting photographs lurking there as well. :aok

Take the L train south to 22nd Street (Cermak Rd) - walk 2 blocks west - Chinatown - great eats
or south to 35th - walk 2 blocks west - Sox park
or south to 95th street - walk 2 blocks west--then turn your donut around and run 2 blocks back east :)

Don't let 'em scare you 88. There's only a few small pockets of unsavory neighborhoods south of Madison. Just avoid everything East of the Ryan, most everything between the Ryan and Cicero from North Av. to 95th. South of 95th, stay west of Western. You'll do fine.

Problem is if you want the best pizza in the city you'll need to get to Crestwood. The best BBQ's also south. And of course if you golf, you should check out the Palos courses.

Oh and there's only 2 or 3 places for respectable seafood. Trust me, don't waste your time.

And don't let those "beaches" fool you. They look normal but they're not. Water's cold and the sand's like pea gravel.

But it is festival season and the mid-west really wakes up during the summer. The weather's perfect (or close) for being outside all day.

Oh yeah, buy the heaviest coat you can afford.....now.

Don't forget the engine warmer and snow tires.
