200 Name Calling

Why is it that a lot of people flying in this game use 200 to talk down and belittle others. Quite often now I notice on 200 someone "A" is calling someone "B" names because they figure "B" is hugging the ack because they are on the deck and the superior E fighter "A" wants to shoot him down.

Also saying "run xxx run" does this really make them turn around and fight? (just tonight I watched 2 51's chasing a temp on the deck for 15 miles only to have the tables finally turn and the temp came back chasing a 51)

We have to remember that there are quite young kids on this game with us also.

smack talk has always been part of this game.  It's usually pretty entertaining.  sometimes it crosses the line of good taste(I'm guilty of this) but it's mostly harmless, don't you think?

I've never had a problem with Channel 200... Of course, I've never turned it on, either, but certainly I've never had any problems with it at all!

Not so Steve.  Think back to when you 1st began flying AH.  Compare the proportion of bad manners both frequency and severity to now. 

FWIW, the change also can be seen on the BBS.  Somewhere around 4 years ago+ the post clearasil set won the day.

I keep a mental list of the most smack talking sticks in the game and enjoy killing them the most. You are always certain to get a reaction from them 
You guys should keep one too. I can see superbKi11er already has one name on his list

If they don't like it or don't want to see it they are not made to tune to 200.
It's an optional channel and don't forget a lot of that stuff on 200 is put there by these young kids.

Most the times it's funny stuff. Normally it is a distraction and keeps your eyes watching a text buffer and not looking around for the enemy.

If you lose sleep over being called a noob or dweeb in a cartoon game you should be escorted to the nearest mental health facility and checked out very closely. because the realities of real life would KILL you!
