I believe its a networking/coad issue SD67.

Once the pilot is back in the tower, he's separated from his plane, if it remained it would cause all kinds of problems.
Where would the game get the positional information to send to the other players? What would happen if you ran into it? It brings all kinds of issues up, with the potential for tons of problems.

For a better answer you'd have to talk to Hitech

We can see the plane spiral in after a guy bails. Maybe they could expand on that?

Here you go, Jerkins.

Wow, standing 10 feet beside a 60 year old 20mm cannon firing 60 year old ammo out in the arctic.  I think I would have been standing behind and farther away if that was me.

Still nice demonstration.

My favorite is putting a 37mm through the cockpit of an F6F and watching it go boom!

Probably due to the relative proximity of plane/pilot at bail time.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Impressive demo though.

You know, I've been curious about something for a little while......Are one hit pilot kills possible?  I mean, not where your plane suddenly gets hit and explodes, but one good hit to the cockpit instantly killing the pilot and sweeping you back to the tower....Does that exist in Aces High?

Take a P-39Q in Offline and shoot one of the planes with 1 37mm. (except the bombers). It will either lose a wing or go BOOM!
