Go to Cnet, and downloag the free program Ping Plotter. Use that to test your connection to the IPs listed in this post http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,68316.0.html If your PL% is high then it is your ISP, and you can either get in contact with them to see what you can do. or you can get service from other ISPs.

Your losing connectivity to the server - hence being disco'd. Run your pingplot for a few min, and post the results on here - unless its the very last hop (unlikely or everyone would be disco'd at the same time), there is a problem on the net between you and the AH servers.

I beleive you would want to run a trace to the game server for it to mean anything here.  Try 206.16.60.38

Pretty much what I expected to see.  I say that as I have been getting a lot of complaints from many QWest customers.  All seem to have the same issue at the gateways for QWest.

The gateway is the connection QWest uses for Internet access.  Whne those gateways get overcrowded, packet loss and various other anomalies ensue.  That is what your trace is indicating.  You need to get this to QWest.  Just keep in mind, if the problem is one of being over saturated, there is really nothing thy can do in  the short term.

They may chose to weather it, or they may already be looking into upgrading thier gateway service bandwidth.  They would be the only ones qualified to answer the question.

Try support@qwest.net.  Just a guess.  I guess you could call them and ask who to send it to as well.

I've been unable to hold a connection more than 30 sec's for a couple of days now. Now that I think about it disco's were getting more common for a while before that but not like this. I've clocked sessions between 22 and 45 seconds max since yesterday. I even completely uninstalled my AV to see if an update was the culprit. No joy. I've never seen net stats like I get now.

Comcast is going tobe a hit and miss proposition until soemthing is done to stop them from using the network shaping system they use.  It causes discos to make room for other bandwidth.

Speculation, but it seems Comcast has a contract with a certain VoIP phone company to allow a certain amount of bandwidth to always be available so the phone service will work reliably.

That is just a guess.  Rumor has it the FCC is going to tell Comcast they cannot fool around with a customers connection.  Until that ruling comes down, or the class action suit in California comes to a head, Comcast users will have spotty times depending on the network load.
