RPM,

All of us who drive pay fuel taxes. The thread was about PROPERTY taxes and I don't pay those. You do though.  :P

Don't remember the exact number, but we pay roughly $9000 for 3400 sq ft in Ft Worth. About half of that is school taxes which blows since I don't have (nor would I ever have) any kids in public schools. So everytime I experience "squeeker spelling" in-game I just sigh and figure the little tard owes me a refund. :furious

This concludes our rant. Have a nice day. :)

SE WI here 2 bedroom, 1 bath just a little over 900 square feet on about a 1/4 acre of land. My 2007 taxes where around 2700 dollars. Without fail they go up around 100 to 200 dollars a year and well over half goes to the schools. My house is small, I would hate to see what some of my neighbors are paying.

True that Mav. But you get my point. They will tax you one way or the other. You're lucky you don't have Texas as a permanent address. You would pay personal property tax on your rig.

acfireguy, that looks like a nice place to me. :aok

Years ago in Kalifornia... we passed prop 13

It pretty much put a freeze on property taxes so long as you lived in the same house or.. same county.

I live in a duplex that I own both sides to.  combined square footage of about 2800 feet.   I pay about $1,400 a year.

If we are all paying property taxes to pay for schools then at the very minimum...  we should be able to vote on vouchers.   The public schools here spend about $10,000 a year per student to get a sub par (in any country but uganda) education.   for half that the taxpayers could get kids enrolled in private schools where they would learn math and science and history and how to (gasp) read and write.

The rig is based in Montana. No sales tax, no personal property tax at all.   :D

my house is 30x30 single floor with the attic space finished into 2 bedrooms and a full unfinished basement. the lot is 75x150. I pay about $2000 in property taxes.

that includes the municipal taxes and school taxes. About 10 years ago though the school district decided that every person that resides in the district that does not own property will start paying school taxes as well as property owners. Not sure how they figured out which ones own their homes and which ones don't since they can't even find the amount I owe without me actually delivering a copy of the bill that they mailed me or without me giving them an extra $5.00 to print a new one. but I only ever get one tax bill per year and that is on the property. By the way the property owners still carry a large portion of the tax collected for the schools. I don't remember the actual percentage that was printed but I think it was close to 75/25 split and you should have heard the renters complaining then, especially the ones with 3-4 kids in the school district.
Haxxor has returned!!!!
