Congress: No annoying airplane cell phone calls

Yeah for starters they could all resign their positions so we could vote some new blood into office. It is the same way for city and county governments. I live in one of the most debt ridden counties in the United States and believe that they (county government) should all be shot so we can start over since they have been elected repeatedly by dumb constituents.

They don't need to ban it. People like me that travel frequently enjoy not having telephone access at 35,000 feet for 1-15 hours. There is nothing so urgent that I need to try to take care of it while sitting on a plane many hundreds of miles away from home or office that my wife, parents, co-workers, etc... can't take care of while I am unreachable. Hell I enjoy not having phone conversations during that time. It allows me to get reports done and other things like that. I would like to see internet access allowed but don't give some sorority chick phone access while she is sitting next to me chatting the whole time about her spring break love interest BS.

I can imagine a situation where you need to call to someone at the destination that your flight is delayed or coming early or make some unscheduled arrangements... and the list goes on. Although most of the people will be yapping about nothing, but for some it would be necessary at times.

Maybe there should be a restriction to talking at cellphones, like certain areas where you can make a short call while stretching out. At the seats you could send email and such. But then again, when there's 300 people onboard it's hard to keep an eye on who's talking for how long and how often. Not to mention the crowded isles that should not be crowded.

You know there was a guy that was being looked for real intensive like once.
The folks that were looking for him couldn`t locate him. No luck at all.
I just happened to be able to find him. He wasn`t the sharpest tool in the shed, so I gave him an envelope and an address
and asked him to deliver it. I told him that he would be paid for his service upon delivery.
In the envelope was a document with his photo on it.
Put a grand in my pocket and was great entertainment.

Yeah not really though. If your flight is delayed then usually you know about it before you leave the ground; unless you happen to get caught in a southern US thunderstorm holding pattern at 30,000 feet for two hours. However if they offer internet access on planes soon then you can IM someone or send an email letting the other fools with crackberries know that something is happening and you will not be at that meeting on time.

Personally I'd be for a cell phone ban on planes.
I would also make it legal for resturants and some other businesses to use that cell phone jamming device.
