Strat and the Map Room
There are three basic categories of strat targets in Aces High: cities, factories, and field
structures.
The city targets affect the downtime of the factories, and the factory targets affect the
downtime of the field structures. Field structures affect the availability of fuel, troops,
radar, ordnance, planes and vehicles.
The percentage of objects down at a city complex affects the rebuild time of damaged
or destroyed objects for that country's factories. For example, if a factory is destroyed
and there is no damage to any city targets, the the rebuild time for the factory would be
30 minutes. If, however, the city were 50% incapacitated, then the rebuild time for the
destroyed factory would be an hour. If the entire city were destroyed, then the factory
rebuild time would be two hours.
The number of objects down at a factory complex affects the downtime of the
corresponding structure at the field. If a radar factory is damaged or destroyed, the field
radar rebuild time is increased. Field radar will be unavailable if the radar at the field is
destroyed. If a country's HQ is destroyed, then radar is eliminated and sector counters
become inoperable for that country.
The field targets affect that field only.
Strat Groups
There are two strat groups in Aces High: country and field. Field targets are tied to the
field group, and city and factory targets are tied to the country group. There are three
countries in Aces High, the Bishops, the Knights, and the Rooks. They are named after
pieces in the game of chess. Bishops are tall and have a diagonal opening in the
faceplates of their armor. Knights have a horse's head and Rooks look like a castle
battlement.
The following tables list the items in the strat groups and the affect they have on the
game when the items are destroyed:
Country Strat Group
City targets
Increases rebuild time of factories and HQ
HQ
Kills all radar for a country
Fuel refineries
Increases rebuild time of fuel tanks at fields
Ammo factories
Increases rebuild time of ammo available at fields
Training barracks
Increases rebuild time of barracks at fields
Radar factories
Increases rebuild time of radar at fields
Ack factories
Increases rebuild time of fields acks
Field Strat Group
Fuel
Reduces the maximum allowed fuel load
Ammo
Reduces the bomb/rocket loadout down to zero
Field radar
Kills radar in a 12.5 mile radius around the field
Barracks
Reduces troop loadout for C-47 down to zero
Fighter hangar
Disables fighters from taking off from the field
Bomber hangar

Vehicle hangar

Capturing a Field
A field is captured and changes ownership when ten enemy troops enter the field's map
room.
Winning the War
The war is won when any country is reduced to one field. At that time, the arena is
reset and the country's territory is randomly chosen for the next battle.
