me 262s

I know for a fact that me262s did carry bombs and drop tanks etc. So can we have them?

The gods say try again later and by later they mean stop whining for it we'll get to it if we feel it should be in the game.

Oh man, organized attack runs with a bunch of 262's would be brutal...

Get in, drop ord, and get out before anyone can even get on the runway.
I'm Sector95 in-game! :-D

I've never heard of Me262s carrying drop tanks and we don't have the version that carried bombs.

I think the 262 that did carry bombs had 2 500kg bombs that were located between the cockpit and the engines.

Yes, but not the version that we have.

And as I recall, the version that did carry bombs only had two 30mm cannons, not four.

The 262 A2a carried 2 250kg bombs not 500. Also some carried 24x 55 mm (2.2 in) R4M rockets.

The excessive drag from the radar array on night fighters, coupled with the back seat (which meant removing some of the fuel storage) I believe night fighters took off with 2 drop tanks mandatory. I don't know of any daytime fighters using them, though.

As far as I know, however, there was almost no difference between the 1 and the 2 models. I mean the "bomber" version had the racks under the nose to carry bombs, and removed 2 30mm guns, but other than that there wasn't much.

If HTC wanted they could add a weapons option in the hangar on the existing model we have without much problem.

P.S. The rockets were purely air to air, were very effective when used against bomber formations, and were NOT ground attack rockets. Just an FYI.

Is this web site just showing a picture of the air to ground variant so you can see the difference of the two rockets or are they implying the 262 used both?  http://www.stormbirds.com/warbirds/tech_r4m_rocket.htm  Also some pictures of a b24 taken out by a 262 with air to air rockets. http://flickr.com/photos/21734563@N04/2113721262/in/pool-usaaf/

I don't know of any 262s making rocket attacks on ground targets, especially armor piercing rocket attacks on tanks, during the war.

Probably a comparison of a similar weapon used on a 190F or some such.
