*Crickets*

WMD in Iraq had enough proof for you. And now you get so sceptic about things that "everyone knows" (tm)! Did they brainwash you not to believe everything you have been told? Poor you!

Don't forget the ICBMs. Little doubt Russia still has more than a few operational. We have more but that would be a small consolation in a nuke war.

I doubt that we would go to war. Those past threads, I was messin around in those last 2 quotes Mensa. You asked me, Russia would get whupped, would I want to go to war, no, as stated in my FIRST post. I'm readin what you guys posted in the first 7 pages, I reacted to it.

Please use common sense and read up on the subject you talk about before making a fool of yourself.

Please, dont try to dig up every quote you can on me. Especailly the quotes I'm not serious about.

Boroda stated (as I do not wanna dig up the exact quote)

Quote from: Boroda on Yesterday at 05:58:24 PM
It's quite important to the US, because it provides military aid to Georgia, and even pays salary to Georgian government...

I reacted to what Boroda said.

This is "win win" for Putin.

It will be an easy victory. They should have no problem kicking Georgias butt, most of all considering the people in SO want nothing to do with Saakashvili. Whom has been raceing at breakneck speed to integrate with NATO in order to shore up support for just such a reality. Putin has been trying hard to provke all this for awhile because he wants to torpedo Georgias integration with the West before it firms up with a full NATO membership.

OK, so now its "on". Putin will get his splendid little war and get huge waves at home, "who doesnt like winning a war"? He will weaken Georgias position across the board, frighten other NATO states that allowing Georgia might draw them into a full scale war with Russia.

But most importantly he will get a stranglehold on the central Asian oil and gas pipeline. Thats what really is at stake here. If Putin can pull off a victory and bring Georgia back into the fold, under Russian influence again, it will strengthen Russias European strangelhold on oil and natural gas. As an added plus conflict in the region will keep energy prices  high, which again helps Russia.

Like I said, Putin cant lose here. Clever boy.

And if anyone thinks the Russians are doing this out of concern for the well being of South Osetians??? Well I think you have to generous an outlook on Russian government.

One of the most sane and reasonable posts in this thread. Nice to see someone thinking instead of repeating propaganda slogans or just trolling like I do.

C'mon, teach Russians or Germans about taking fortified cities. I'll appreciate the list of the cities taken by His Majesties glorious army in the last 100 years, larger then Port Stanley.

150 years ago you guys didn't worry about civilians in Sevastopol... Oh, sorry! That time Brits were hiding behind French backs! Tooo bad when you meet an opponent who can return fire, eh?

Baghdad? oh sorry, that was the americans.

the russians lost 100,000 men taking berlin because stalin wanted it for his birthday. How many do you want to lose against NATO.

russian tanks VS cobra gunships= tanks lose.

sevastopol? how about the russo-japanese war.

State Entry Exit Combat Forces Population     Losses
Japan 1904 1905 400000           45000000     85000
Russia 1904 1905 2000000        136000000    125000

Russo-Japanese War  (1904-05), military conflict in which a victorious Japan forced Russia to abandon its expansionist policy in the Far East, becoming the first Asian power in modern times to defeat a European power.

tell us again about the mighty russian victorys uncle joe.

I doubt that we would go to war.

We won't attack Russia directly unless attacked or a closer ally is attacked.

And what do we get on CNN? John Edwards having an affair, and a bunch of barbie-reporter-bimboes blathering on about it like a gossip circle at a womens support group.

Maybe they will give an update when the tac-nukes start to fly. Or, maybe not.

Switched to CNN Headline News, Nancy Grace talking about another cute baby missing somehere, on the "murder for entertainment hour".

...Googling online, its the only way you can get real "news" anymore.

Are you going to tell us if we can give Russian citizenship to someone or we can't?! Are you nuts, comrade?

 So the USA can give, if the Americans wanted to,  American citizenship to Georgians then?

Like the Gulf war all future wars will probably center around resources, with energy resources being at the front.

Greece and Turkey are probably heading down that path as the Agean sea has oil and eventually somone is going to want to get it.

Governments will tell their citizens its about freedom, or WMDs, or besieged shared ethnic communities. They will come up with all kinds of honorable reasons for the war. Like Putin is doing, "as if he gives a rats arse about these South Osetians". But the bottom line is oil, gas, water, resources, money, the power of controlling them and the strategic advantage it gives.

They cant really tell the truth cause most people cant handle the truth. They will whine and complain about gas prices but cant stomach the reality that nations somtimes have to fight for it. Be it the Agean, the Spratleys, Manchuria, the Caspian region, Africa, the Middle East, the Golans water...ect These will be the stages of future conflicts. Indeed, ever since Industrialzation, resources have been the main reason most wars have started. Most of all WW-ll. If you think about it its probably been the case ever since we picked up a spear or swung a club. All thats changed is the types of resources being fought for.

So when you look past all the rhetoric you will probably find the common denominator. And its going to get a lot worse because we are eating the planets resources away at an alarming rate.
