Ahh that would explain it.  Well then on the standard setting it's 50.

It is. Just as standard setting for American Citizens is :noid
Russia actually did the right thing here. I know it's hard for westerners to accept, but for once a large power interceded decisively and swiftly without months or playing footsy and hundreds of warnings.
The USA would have sent a strongly worded letter followed by months of negotiations finally ending up in a long drawn out military action once their opponent had been given ample time to prepare for the onslaught.
Russia went in, got the job done, followed up with a strong warning and now it looks like they are going home, mission accomplished. Pipeline UNMOLESTED.

Yea, Russia is pretty much right down to it. Thats what I dont like about America (Dont get me wrong, most people are great, but sadly, the minority ALWAYS get their way and the majority are ALWAYS left out in the Dust in America), they always have to be politically correct, which means that it makes the job harder, gets more innocent people killed, and only brings more hate among the stupid people.

I'm sure you completely supported Reagan's decision to crush Grenada or G H W Bush's decision to invade Panama and arrest Noriega.

Somebody here said that China is an ally of Russia. When did that happen? China is America's tightest ally, and then Saudi Arabia. China finances America and Saudi Arabia fuels America and the dollar.

To think that nations allign because of similar state methodologies and ideologies is a mistake. That is anthropomorphizing, you need to use a different set of psychometrics. Look how ideologically different the US, PRC and Saudi Arabia are. Saudia Arabia is the clone mother of the taliban, and I don't really need to say anything about china, yet we'd go to war for saudi arabia and china would loan us the money to do it. And the UK would help provide the meat and machines. America was a "staunch ally" of the previous georgian government which the current georgian government revolted against. America was an ardent ally of Georgia even when we knew that Sharvenadze rigged and stole elections.

If only that were true. I suspect it isn't and that Russia does not intend to leave Georgia until a puppet government is in place. We shall see.

Russia actually did the right thing here. I know it's hard for westerners to accept, but for once a large power interceded decisively and swiftly without months or playing footsy and hundreds of warnings...Russia went in, got the job done, followed up with a strong warning and now it looks like they are going home, mission accomplished.

Hmmm...lets see.  Russia has had "peacekeepers" in Georgia since the 90's.  They have provided support and training to the separatists in both provinces since the early '90's.  Kosovo declares independence last month, and a few weeks later, separatists in both provinces instigate an incursion by Georgia.  This is Russia's play--the West recognizes Kosovo, the Russians will recognize the Georgian provinces as nations.  All of this has been in an attempt to have these two provinces break off from Georgia, and eventually rejoin Russia.  I'm not going to make a judgement on the Russians here about right and wrong--especially given the ethnic tensions that exist in these transition states, but it certainly wasn't something the Russians decided to get involved with two weeks ago.  And apparently, they're not going home either...

Oh, no reason. No reason at all.

 :D

If your mouth is salivating from thinking about direct confrontation between Russian and American troop, there is a nice place for you where people in white overalls wipe your butt and give you electroshocks.

Personally, I believe this discussion would be best served if everyone dropped the saber-rattling.
