You have tyranny yet you blame Russia (not Soviet Union) for stopping genocide by Georgians. This "feeling" seems very selective.... why don't I see this feeling in other places such as Africa......admit it, before Boroda's post you never knew what Osetia was and what problems they faced for past 20 years.
btw, please realize you speak to citizen of USA. And my 'dodge' is strictly philosophical definition of a word. Something apparently foreign to you. I'll repeat Soviet Union is NOT Russian Federation. I'm not denying anything, I'm correctly simple use of a definition. Stop trying to stick your words into my mouth.
Please realize I could give a rats bellybutton what nation you are a citizen or subject of. I form my opinions of people based on what they say, what they do, how they relate to the world they live in.
Based on what I've heard from you so far, I'd peg you as an opportunist, rather than a citizen... obviously, were you an enemy of tyranny your postulations would be a little less knee-jerk reactionary in defense of your homelands national heritage. I suspect you just filled out the forms, mouthed the words and consider your presence here in america an affront to the ideals programmed into your socialist upbringing.
On to the subject matter: You gloss over transgressions by russians, by ossets, and focus only on georgians as being solely responsible for this situation.
There are probably 30 or more links to reliable info indicating the georgians were provoked in this thread. There is an exceedingly large body of information, NOT western in origin, that indicates the Russians, under Putin, are exporting the same type of 'diplomacy' they used on Chechnya... to Georgia.
There exists an impressive body of info that indicates that russia has illegally violated the sovereign border of georgia and continues to impose their will in georgia despite your denial of those immutable facts..
We have seen the leaders of Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Lithuaina ALL in Tbilisi, expressing solidarity with Georgia, decrying this tyranny wrought upon georgia by russia. There exists in the history books an absolutely astounding amount of data that shows this behavior by moscow is business as usual in this region.
It's tyranny.
Surely, you recognize tyranny... unless perhaps you figure it's a russian birthright?
