Another no knock thread..on one side those who know it will never happen to them, on the other the criminals who have something to hide.

"Only criminals with something to hide" are concerned about unconstitutional policies and abuses of authority?  I sincerely hope you or any of your love ones never unknowingly has something shipped to your house, or the cops mistake any of your tomatoes for pot plants and decide it's time to look tough.  You'll be singing a different song then, no doubt.

However, I have never seen a police agency apologize, or any government agency for that matter.

True.

Instead, give 'em medals!   :rofl

Shoot my Labs, I absolutely guarantee a high volume of return fire. And I don't use no pansy .223 either.

Wouldn't they have enough common sense to get some some info on the Resident before a Raid of that magnitude.

They had to know it was the Mayor's home.  A detective or any regular PO could have been sent to ask questions or make an arrest.

He wasn't a threat in other words.

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

This is another idiotic event that ties directly into the House bill to legalize marijuana.

32 pounds of ganja, first discovered in Arizona and followed by the Feds all the way to a no-knock raid on a Mayor's house in Va.

Was this worth the time and effort of the Feds? What did they save our society from? Stoners?

Hardly. MJ is like Prohibition booze. You've got Feds running around chasing this way and that to save society from the evils of alcohol while a very large percentage of the populace buys smuggled booze, makes their own bathtub gin and frequent speakeasys. All it led to was a huge waste of time, money, effort and blood. Now booze is legal and guess what? Not every citizen drinks, some drink responsibly and a minority over do it. Legal alcohol is a thriving business and a boon to the economy from the supermarket six-pack to the high dollar wine at restaurants and hard drinks at sports bars.

It is past time to legalize MJ and quit wasting our law enforcement effort, money and liberties on these no-knock raids that will.... mark my words... escalate until LEOs either change their tactics or start dying in increasing numbers.

I'm a pretty peaceable, lawful person. But if you break into my home and shoot at my dogs or my family, you're going to get a magazine of .308 in return. I don't give a damn if you are shouting "Police". The 4th Amendement still means something to me and I WILL fight for it.AS you can tell, these continual no-knock incidents have truly pissed me off.

Time to write your Representatives in support of the Frank/Paul bill on MJ. HR 5843 is the one.

Oh yeah.. tell them that they better get the cops to respect the 4th Amendment while they're at it.

Even if they start dying in increasing numbers, the LEO's themselves will just start shooting sooner. Better that an innocent civilian dies than an LEO on a bogus no knock raid right?

There will be no apology from the police even to this mayor. I have no idea why government agencies are so against making an apology when they are wrong.

They didn't just follow the package, Toad, they intercepted it and an undercover made the actual delivery.  They were more concerned about making a case than they were about instigating a violent confrontation.  They delivered the package and then staked out the house waiting for it to be taken inside.  The cops saw the guy return home from walking his dogs, waited a bit and then burst in.  It's not like they could have been surprised by the dogs presence, the cops were fully aware the dogs were inside that residence and took no precautions.

The way I see it, the cops facilitated the event by making the delivery, then escalated the situation by initiating a violent confrontation.  Thankfully they only killed the dogs.  The distressing thing is that this was not an isolated incident.  We've heard many similar stories, yet the no-knock entries continue.

As a dog owner I'm incensed by the cops willingness to kill any dog that looks at them funny, and as an American I'm embarrassed that we're letting this happen.  All in the name of the War on (the users of some) Drugs.  Sick...   :furious

If you can withstand the wait and four hour interview (mandated by 9/11 legislation) you can always get a Class 3 weapon and then you are required by law to protect your home and guns with your life which means without a warrant and without calling before entering the law should expect to be met with a hail of fire.

Yet when a K-9 cop is killed, the Police try to bring the criminal on murder charges.

Cool with me. They start that toejam, the sooner we get to the 2nd American Revolution.

When the K-9 is killed (not the actual LEO) the police try to bring murder charges? Are you freaking kidding me? Link(s) please.
