A couple of things have started to annoy me about the AH 'community' in recent weeks/months.
It's interesting to hear that Towd has been barred. Fair enough, he shouldn't have said what he did. Abuse the landlord in his pub. and you get barred - night follows day.
Perhaps we ought to continue this neo-McCarthyism and ban people who have said some, frankly stupid, ignorant and above all offensive things. I have seen a couple of things on Ch.1 in my 6 months of being here:
"Let's have trains of Jews in AH."
Not going to win any comedy awards with that.
"No Japanese on channel 1, please."
At least this guy was polite.
Are these people to be barred or even warned? I understand there are now anonymous content monitors, but any controversy has seemed to revolve around 'squeaking' involving offensive language on Channel 1.
I'm just interested to know if there are set criteria relating to comments like the ones given above.
However, what has started to really get on my 'threepenny bits' are the whiners online and (to a lesser extent) offline. Personally, people who scream blue murder on channel 1, because someone didn't play the game their way or they killed need to do two things:
1) Wake up and realise this is actually a game.
2) Actually go outside and try to get a life.
More recently, I've noticed people who complain because their 'team' isn't doing things 'their way'. I wish they'd just go away.
The squelch command is there, sure, but why do people behave in this way? Why the nastiness? Please can I have a personal squelch list?

The good thing is that most people are decent individuals. But the arrogant, pretentious, self-obsessed out there are starting to become a little tedious.
To the 98% of decent people out there - rock on!
