Tell me is it possible for UK soldiers there to leave their bases without permit and return back after good time with locals. No?! What a masking surprise! :D

So I count this as a negative answer?

LOL I imagine an arrogant Brit wearing his everyday uniform walking a bazaar in Kabul alone :D

Not a Brit, so I couldn't say, but then again I doubt the Afghan women are afraid of being raped and killed either as in a previous occupation.  :rofl

Still, i know which army i'd rather be in.  A battalion of british soldiers aren't topping themselves annually, unlike other nation's armies....  The UK is involved in 2 medium scale operations and Russia still has higher casualties.

Yep....it's guestimated we'll finish 12th overall

I think we already have enough golds to finish higher than 12th.

The best pre games predictions I've seen were from Luciano Barra, who said Britain would finish with 18 gold and in 5th place. So far the British team are 2 up on his predictions, so there's a possibility of 20 or so golds and 4th place.

The only competition worthy of note in Russia anymore is the vodka guzzling championships.    :D

As of this moment, only US and china are ahead of us. I'm sure it will change but it's a great achievement.

Russia languishes in 9th place. It seems without the satellite states such as the Ukraine etc, Russia is not able to compete.

Based on recent history I wouldn't crow too much about how dirty the Eastern block women were regarding drugs.

Really? Then why am I still seeing pics with their tanks, their equipment and planes? They didn't destroy the Georgian Military. Like I said before, you invaded a country smaller than TEXAS and you just about failed at that.

You want a cookie?? You'll still probably have trouble trying to take it from my hands

Of the 80 athletes banned prior to the games, 4 were from the USA, 28 from former eastern bloc, 24 from EU + Turkey.

The EU was epecially hit due to 14 from Greece alone.

China had 10.

This is the first Olympics where we don't use Soviet heritage. As for me we are doing unexpectedly good.

Leading in medals for wrestling as usual, and the freestyles are still to come. Have y'all ever made a bad showing in it? Still hoping for submission grappling at the games one day. I want to see something wild like Fedor vs Marcelo Garcia in the open division.

I wonder why everyone was always so excited by peasant girls like Sharapova or Kournikova.

Id rather roll over in the morning and look at those 2 who may not have alot than to roll over and look at some rich cow or dog.
