 Man there isn't anything so good as a proper grilled AMERICAN cheese sandwich  :rock :aok except maybe two if them. Damn in hungry now and not a slice of flippin bread in the house whimper  :cry

Yep, dairies in Tillamook Oregon, make awesome Extra Sharp Cheddar.... Pretty cool place too...
The town has an old WWII era Blimp hangar, (held 4 blimps), that is full of WWII airplanes...
They say the blimp hangar is the largest freespan all wooden structure in the world.... Its HUGE!!!
And of course the planes are awesome... A26, B25H, Mustang, Corsair, Hellcat, tons of others...
Also, it is a Salmon and Steelhead fishing mecca.. Three rivers, Wilson, Trask, and Kilchits, empty
into Tillamook bay... Some of the largest King Salmon in the lower 48... 40lb'ers are common on the Kilchits...
And sometimes ppl land the occasional 50+ lb'er.... Awesome town, to say the least!!!

When I was there for last years steelhead run, they had a Super Guppy at the blimp hangar,
piston engined too... unusual!!!

Yep, they've got a hanger in Tillamook big enough to fly a T-6 through.


And yes, they really do have the best cheese this side of the Atlantic.

And on the topic of cheese-  The US has really come a long way in their artisan cheesemaking. On a larger scale, Maytag blue is one of my favorites as well.

If you are ever in Geneva there is a small Raclette restaurant that serves very simple dinners...essentially blobs of cheese with small potatoes and some pickles and onions.

Absolutely delicious.
But, do not do what I did and have a whole bunch of it and then drink a cold coke.  You won't be able to poo for weeks.
