I have read stuff on the clarity of the existing maps and understand that HTC may feel the present clipboard / map interface is "adequate".
However
My squadron flies both AW and AH (some of us flying both some only flying one of the two)
An issue that some of our older members have with AH is the clarity of the map. By older I mean one in particular who is in his eighties and has trouble finding, enlarging, moving and finaly understanding the present AH map system.
We have guys in their sixties, seventies and eighties with us. (plus the odd blind forty somethings like me)
He and others prefer the AW rapid access to a full screen map which is equally rapidly expanded to a magnification of choice which becomes default regardless of other actions between deselecting and subsequent reselection.
Further the AW positional icon is very basic but very visible where as the AH (although with the added benefit of direction indication) can get lost into the background graphics.
Whilst probably very much a minority plea I would ask the following.......
1)Would HTC consider a simple one key press to toggle the map to and from full screen?
2)Could the pixel density of the map be made greater to allow a much higher magnification/zoom?
3)Is it possible (even on the existing maps) to change the locator icon to one much more visible?
4)I understand (but not how) that the map is initially generated from the terrain model. Is it possible to generate a version that is much more map like (16 colour) and less like a sattelite image with lines and numbers drawn on?
5)Could field locating texts fonts stay the same "onscreen" size regardless of zoom level (like with aircraft carriers)? (rather than being part of the back ground map graphic) (even better if the font size was adjustable in setup).
