They weren't wooden and I know they had 1 50. Cal,If I'm mistaken I think some had the same cannon as a LVT please correct me if I'm wrong on that.

But it is a good idea

Yep they were wooden (marine plywood) except for the "ramp" which was steel, and yes they did mount a .50 cal to supress ground fire as they made their way to the beach

They made have been "field modified" with other ordinace but that was not the SOP.

with LST, instead of spawning @ shore like LVTs do, ud choose LST or Tank from CV hanger. Then
it would spawn u @ the Fleet like a PT in the LST(with Tank as cargo) and you drive the LST to shore.
when u beach the LST and open the door, it switchs you to the Tank driver seat and you drive out
on to land. when your tank leaves the LST, it vanishes.

isnt the LST as big as or bigger than the CV?, correct me if im wrong, but if it is, i dont think that would happen

No not as big as the CV but larger than a Higgins boat. in fact it was a Ship, (shallow draft) with doors that opened in the front (Old west swinging bar doors) LST stands for Landing Ship Tank.

it's big enough to fit a Sherman firefly maybe, a M8, maybe a Panzer IV, a tiger would sink it though idk about a T-34 or the new T-34 though....but defiantly a yes from me it can defiantly haul a M3 with troops to cap a town  :aok

it can haul troops alone. oh nvm but if the town is too far then you would need a m3 lol, but what happens after your done driving the boat. do you just switch to you veh.? i mean id like to drive the boat myself and not sit in the divers seat of my GV but i think it should just drive back to the carrier itself after you landed

I think this would be a great add. Granted it is a little faster and has no armor, it had the most important part in the largest sea to land operation in WW II.  Higgins boats carried 36 men or 1 jeep and 12 men.

I like the thought of a bunch of Higgins filled with troops and vehicles, rushing to the beach to fight

I think that if u r manning the vehicle in the Higgin, u should be at least be able to shoot the machine gun( if
it has one)

It makes sense, especially from the single-player aspect. Having an LST with onboard players is problematic, especially for whoever is driving the LST once the tanks are ashore...go back to the CV?

I like the morphing idea...course, at that point, we could just use Duplex Drive Shermans.

The Cutain on the DD could be an Ordance...
