Actually the designation was StuIG 33 or Stu IG 33.

yeah I was looking up information about the Sturminfanteriegeshuetz and say the Caption of a similar picture saying "Stug 33" and I got confused since Stug refers to the Sturmgeschutz but the designation on this vehicle was different. So thanks for pointing it out :)

Served with the 605th Panzerjagerbteilung in North Africa. Six guns were delivered in January and three in February 1942. They were prominent in the Battle of Gazela in May/June 1942.
