Ok. I see you are moved. I suggest you don't vote for the top of the republican ticket... they won't do anything to help your personal condition.

Next is more info on the bridge to no where... Seems she supported it before she was aginst it and she actually had nothing to do with turning the money down.. (she wasn't even Govenor at the time the money was approved to be used for something else, so she didn't tell congress a damn thing)

Quote
A press release issued by the governor on September 21, 2007 said she decided to cancel state work on the project because of rising cost estimates.

"It's clear that Congress has little interest in spending any more money on a bridge between Ketchikan and Gravina Island," Palin said in the news release. "Much of the public's attitude toward Alaska bridges is based on inaccurate portrayals of the projects here."

Palin canceled state work on the project.

As mayor of Wasilla, it was Paliin's job to look out for the citizens of Wasilla.  Getting 27 million in federal dollars for Wasilla was looking out for the taxpayers of Wasilla.

Alaska has a population of 670,000 as of 2006.  California, 36,457,549

Spend 1 billion in Alaska, $1,492 per capita spend 1 billion in California, $27 per capita.

So in other words you are agreeing that she was for earmarks when it was good for her political advancement (which happened to be even while she was campaigning for governor) Then she was against them when it was once again for the benefit of her political advancement. The best part was she didn't give the money back.. like she claimed. She still spent it once it was no longer considered a "earmark".

I'm pretty sure in George Bush terms that's called a "flip flopper".  :rofl

Oh don't worry I wont be voting for her.. however it's funny watching some of you squirming to ignore the facts just so you have an excuse to support someone who isn't up to the job. This whole thing pretty much makes all those Obama rants here on this board quite ironic.

I think Palin was a poor choice for VP .... but she gave a great speech. She came across very well and did what she needed to do. She's clearly comfortable with crowds and camera, she's articulate and makes a great impression. As for not having any policy details, that's not the point of this type of speech. None of these convention speeches in either party are going to have much in the way of meat and potatoes, it's all about sound bites, firing up the faithful and trying to appeal to the independents that are going to determine this election.

The only one squirming is you ... your fanatical attention to her and the feverish amount of posts and links by you to try and discredit her is bordering on "stalking" ... :D

Wanna see Democrats at their best?   Take a gander at the State of Michigan.   Engler looks like a Saint compared the "Twin Cheek nippled" Jennifer Granholm.   She's destroyed the State.   She refused to step in and take care of the Detroit Mayoral Scandals.

I'm not a Republican or a Democrat.   I'm as Moderate as they come.   "Obama rant"?    Only ones "ranting" for the last 8 years have been the Democrats because somehow Gore failing to win his HOMESTATE, managed to deflect attention to Florida.   Then fast forward to 2004 and Kerry "not campaigning behind his prior military service", only to bring it up every chance he could.

All I've heard from Dem's is the following: "We have a moron in the White House."   Well, what does that tell you about the Democratic Party?   If Bush is such a "moron", then he would be placed above the Democrats on the "Intelligence Ladder", right?

A lot of your facts have turned out to be not so factual. You keep trying to use the earmarks while she was Mayor as an issue. It's a non issue, how do you think small towns get improvements done? They get state and federal money to help out. Besides, she isn't against earmarks in general, she is just against wasteful spending and abuse of the system.

Wasilla was and is a growing community, and as such it needed some basic upgrades. She got the job done via earmarks.

Despite the fact that most of us can see the difference between wasteful spending and abusing a system and doing things that are needed and helpful, you will continue to wave this issue around like it's some sort of trump card.

I agree she was working for her constituents as Mayor and asked for federal funding for municipal projects.  Any mayor who does not try to get additional funding is derelict in duty.

She shut down Alaska state work on the BTN when it seemed the project was doomed.  I only wish Massachusetts had done that.  Then we could have saved the 8 billion plus that the big dig is over budget.
