Nits in LWBlue tonight
« on: September 09, 2008, 12:30:05 AM »
What's up guys?  I've never heard so little communication between pilots before, even in nit-land. :furious  Specifically, I'm talking about the fight between A9 and A11.  Most of the check 6 calls I heard were for the completely obvious; no one said "I'm dragging" to set up a kill and very few suggested it.  Wave after wave of nits dumped their altitude to gang low, single bandits, while the rooks moved in from altitude and destroyed them just as quickly. :cry  It got to the point where I could fly into the furball surrounded by nits, survive for one minute and find myself completely alone. :huh
Kudos to the guy who admitted that he can't talk and fly yet, though I forget his name. :lol

If you spent more time watching your 6 instead of watching your score board, you'd be all set.

sounds like a fairly typical sortie to me :(

of course sometimes theres decent comms - last night or night before me n B2 were takin the tiffies for a spin and ran into you, Junky and a few others. calling cons (with alt and e-state), setting up ropes etc. certainly makes it alot easier to bag a couple of kills and get home :aok

One would have to know how fight first to be able to assess a fight.

I was there as Knights. My take is actually very different. I saw a relatively equal number of Knights and Rooks fighting. The Knights had a lot fewer skilled/experienced players, I counted 3-5 at the high point out of 20 or so. The Rooks had 10-12 experienced players, most of whom were flying in squadron co-ordination. The Rooks had JB's, Stang, 412th and a few other highly skilled fighters. I saw the Knights actually winning at low-medium alts which caused some Rooks to keep coming back high, like 15-25k+. The Knights didn't have many high so consciously kept fighting low-medium to force the high Rooks to come down for kills, which they actually didn't do for the most part, instead they stayed high and killed buffs mostly. I saw very few Rooks landing kills and not very many of them when they did, but I saw several Knights landing kills and more of them.

The communication on Knights was fair, but it's always fair. The communication on Rooks is always excellent by comparison. I could tell before I even started killing a lot were in squad and on range bolstering each other's SA. Knights weren't terrible in the communication department especially considering the lack of experience they had. I think part of the reason you had a rough time was you and Frodo were the only two I saw consistently trying to stay high and ended up having to duck the 20k+ ponies and Tempests the Rooks kept sending over in co-ordinated packs. The fight was much better at the medium-low alts and decidedly in the Knight's favor...

Yea me and Gav were cleaning 197 but that was OJ arena :aok  But honestly I find I like seeing certain people in the furballs because I know they are giving checks and I always give checks. (+),68s,JG11,71 RAF,FBs, honestly I can go all day about sqauds that have guys always giving checks.
