skyrock.. he may well have intended it to mean me but instead.. he nailed you right between the eyes..

an example would be your latest when asked about the economy and the causes "7 years of that moron" was your reply.

I have argued with PHD's who used the same tactics as anax describes.. once you get em flustered.   Other than that..   I have found that I GENERALLY have a better debate with educated people.

Logic is politically correct, and probably metrosexual too.  I never knew... :uhoh

No there are too many logical arguments in favour of racism and sexism etc

There are plenty of academics who act like little children.

The fact is we all use fallacies from time to time because they're fun, especially when your opponent doesn't know what hit them.  My favorite is this:

9/11 Conspiracy Theorist:  The Republicans are behind 9/11.

Me:  But Noam Chomsky doesn't believe the Republicans would do that, and he believes in all sorts of conspiracy theories.  If Noam Chomsky doesn't believe it, it can't be true.

9/11 Conspiracy Theorist:  I thought Chomsky was smarter than that.

The price of Freedom is the willingness to do sudden battle, anywhere, any time and with utter recklessness...

...at home, or abroad.

You also probably didn`t notice that your thread has nothing to do with logic.
Democracy is two wolves deciding on what to eat. Freedom is a well armed sheep protesting the vote.

It's about opinion. The real question is...is it about what people think about their own opinions.

Many in here tend to try to shout down, rather than debate. I believe that's what Anax is trying to get at.

anax.. in your example...  it's just conversation.. not a debate.  same for here...  this is a place where you get to say "prove it"   I like that.. I follow the far left and far right links here.

as for the conversation part?  that is the filler.. it passes the time whether it is with a flustered PHD or a hick like myself..  enough of it and you get a feel for the person.   that is what we do... us red voters and libertarians and individualists.. we get a feel for the person, and that is perhaps why all the "smart people" will never understand what makes us tick.

We got no problem understanding exactly what they are all about tho..  we understand it.. we just don't want any.
