I will have to agree that the 109 (especially) is hard to take off in. The Spit is little better, the 51 and LA-5 are just plumb easy... ASSUMING of course you are using rudder pedals.
It is an extra expense, no argument there, and not all those who fly this sim are going to want to invest in those, BUT... (big but here) if you really want to be effective on take offs you will want them. Not to speak of ACM being easier too...
There is a considerable amount of literature on how the pilots back then "danced" on the pedals. It works the same here, you need to add right rudder and when you see it's too much you get "off" of it some, then on again, etc. Essentially "dancing" on the pedals. It does work but I had to practice for a full two days primarily on take off and landings just to get it right and I still don't get it right all the time. But it is much easier now.
Slowly, not too slowly, advancing the throttle and "feeling" the pressure you need to apply to counteract torque, getting the tail up smoothly, are the keys to succesfull take offs in the 109 and the Spit.
