For what reason do you fly Aces High? Is it for flying with squadies and having a good time?

From age 4 (when my father bought me Revell's B-25C "Flying Dragon" kit) I've studied about WWII airplanes.  It was a short hop from there to studying WWII fighter combat, and in my Walter Mitty mind I've always wished I could have flown fighters in that conflict.  All the flight sims I've played served as the closest thing I could get to the time machine that would be necessary to really fulfill the dream.  AH2 is the best one yet.

So:  As a more direct answer to your question, I fly for two reasons only, the air combat and the history, in that order.  I've got no interest in the simplistic strategy of the game (taking towns and air bases with 12 troops?  C'mon....) or with any particular squad (the only one I've ever been in has a very loose organization - and we're fundamentally all one big squad anyway).

If it was not for the gents in our Squad i would have quit  by now....  Game is becoming less and less addictive. Actually pretty aggravating at times...

Personal take is the nonsense that runs amuck in the DA has been spilling over to the MA......becoming the norm.

It becoming harder and harder to ignor the griefers and more than 3 guys on one con......

Mabye my refrences have changed or my opinion on what I want from the time i spend in game... but its a differant game from when I started 3 years ago....

I've always loved military aircraft since childhood. My first model was a B26 btw lol. The main reason I play tho is cause they won't let me strap 4 hispanos with 600 rds plus or minus onto my Subaru to deal with Philadelphia's lovely I76 corridor traffic.

I just pretend that red guy is that stupid *itch on the cell phone that merged into my lane doing 45 while I'm doing 75....and give him a nice 3 second burst of 20mm

As for the squaddies, the pigs on the wing channel is funkin hilarious. Might singing a drunk version of " I kissed a girl " and Bustr talking people into holding his stick make for some good augers.

For fun, but also for its diversity.  No other game has large arenas like Aces High.  Sure some first person shooters do, but not flight sims.  It's very unique in its design and gameplay, and I think that's what keeps me around.

I play because my wife bought me this cool japanese wwii pilot outfit. Soooo before i log on, i put on my "uniform" grab my japanese flag in one hand a glass of saki in the other. I then start screaming all the japanese i know very loudly in quite the menacing tone. At this point the kids start getting scared, which in my mind means im "ready".  I then start my flight, most the time i just get hoed by some niki, in a very
nasty manner i might add, resulting in me throwing the cat across the room, really hard. So take note: when you ho, a cat gets hurt.

so, i just fly for fun and because i hate that cat.

(whats left of) ---->zuii

I wish my wife was that cool.  She hates the idea of me even playing.   :rolleyes:
