Dedalos.... how would you fix the problem?

If you considering a 2v1 a gang then you're full of it honestly.

Where did that come from?  How is 6 or more vs 1 right next to the runway?  That is what the war does.  You have to win the war, so it would be stupid to not take me down even if I was on the runway.

No, war, no need to do that

Removing the war?

So removing base capture and the rolling plane set is what you're looking for?

Just to be specific.

I'm with you Ded. I know other players that would agree with you too but they have been censored from the conversation. At this point it's just tilting at windmills.

AH is a game you play, they want to make it a game you win.

Grow up bug.  No where in any of my posts have I said anything like that.  If you read back, I actually made it clear that I am not asking to remove base capture.  Don't be putting words in my mouth and try to be an adult about this.

Which part of put it back the way it was before the war don;t you understand?  You do remember how it was no?  Both base capture and rolling plane sets were on yes?  So please, "to be specific" read what I type and don;t make things up.

I was asking my question for clarity, I don't understand what you mean by "The War".

What exactly do you want removed then?  Please spell it out for me because I truly am not following you.  Tell me the exact setup feature, arena setting, etc.,  that you consider the war to be.  To me the war constitutes Two big things the capture turned on and the rolling plane set.  The only other thing is the sentence I put in the MOTD stating the Allied objective.

Actually they weren't.

tryin to think outside the norm... maybe it wasnt and isnt now the way the arenas are setup and run but the way the maps are built or setup that creates the ‘war’ problems.  The problem starts when you make capturing an airfield or Vbase a requisite for winning the war.  We need a new type of map with refineries, bridges, large towns (TT size or larger), etc which are located an equal distance away from the airfields and vehicle bases and are the focal point of the war.  Take a couple of them then the local airfield or Vbase comes under your control (kind of like what happens to refineries in the MAs)
Is this kind of map possible in AH2?

:aok Jappa it looks like you are pretty much describing Battle of Aces, which took place some time ago.  What happened with that?  We had a ton of glitches and the distance and costs of the planes gave ammunition to those who constantly complain about how bad the AvA is.  I thought it was awesome, but it ran too long and had more than its share of bugs to be worked out.

It seems that TheBug in his current campaign has worked out many of the bugs as new ones seem to arise (loss TCP and vox).  It has been my wish for quite some time now to have a small break every week, in which the setup is rotated and new design concepts are tested for only one day or so.   :pray

That one day could give the planeset hungry crowd a better chance at their ride or theater coming into play at least once a month. :noid

It’s a mix of BOA (I really enjoyed) and the current setup.  Create a new map where the focus is on taking towns, cities, factories… put a map room or two (depending on size)in them and separate them equally from each countries bases.  Remove the towns from Airfields completely.  Have a rolling plane set so each side has access to all available a/c of the time.
I would love to see this.....

Hey Jappa, I believe the creation of such a map was requested a while back. I can't remember when though....failing short term memory :). I can attest to the fact that creating a map exactly to peoples specifications is difficult and takes tremendous time. I've been working on one for a few months now and had to take a break from it. Frustration from unknown glitches showing up and having to test each peice of the map to see which part is causing the glitches is the pain. All this said to simply say, making a map takes time. If they were to start working a map out then three months down the road it no longer becomes wanted.........

Now, if your saying they should dig in to their repoirte of maps to find one suitable for your needs, I don't see why that can't be done.

Bug, you and the staff are doing a fine job and I feel the arena is a much better place than when it was just a private dueling arena for a select few players; us Avengers very much enjoy our squad nights in there.  The new people that have started flying in the arena are a refreshing change compared to most that inhabited the AvA arena when we showed up a year ago.  A few of the old hands were and still are class acts and a pleasure to fly with and against (oldman), but there was sure a lot of sour apples that had to be dealt with.   Keep up the good work Bug, remember, the dissatisfied, even though fewer in numbers, will always make the most noise.  <S>

It never was that.
