CAC-Boomerang (RAAF) "Panic Fighter" Photos

Touring up north and came across the Australian Army Aviation Museum in Oakley by mistake. CAC-Boomerang was on display forming an interesting chapter in Australian Aviation, thought some here might be interested in the photos.

They have 1 at Temora Air Museum, just north of Wagga Wagga, NSW,

They fly "Suzi-Q" once a month along with the rest of their collection.

Always wondered about the flight characteristics of that one. And performance? Anyone?

It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Nice lookin' airframe. I assume the "spikey" lookin' exhaust was a type of flame suppressor?  :salute
