Wmaker, did you scan the picture from paper and put it online? Or is it something actually on the Internet?

I've saved it years ago from a message board that doesn't exist in it's current form. Google didn't find any pic of it when I tried to search with it yesterday.

Judging from the Pic, if it was German, It would have an Iron cross, not a roundel.

Unless it was captured and used as a squadron hack.  The RAF used many German aircraft during the war.

I do suspect it is French from wmaker's hint above tho ;)
