now that "Fields of ink" is going, God willing, :pray i will be in this by spring, and 2 years later i will upgrade to the srt8.

took it for a test drive two days ago, the car is sick!!!!!!

Anyone read this new Car and Driver yet?

They selected a large field of high performance cars and ran some laps around a race course (Road America this year?).

One highly surprising beastie in this year's field managed to utterly smoke the Challenger SRT8, and it beat the new EVO, the new WRX STI, the Lexus IS-F, VW R32, and the Lotus Exige. That little monster? The $23,000 Cobalt SS..... Road and Track also compared the Cobalt 4 dr SS to the Mazdaspeed 3, the new 265 hp WRX, and the Mitsu Rallyart. Net result, the Cobalt won and did so easily.

0-60 in 5.3 seconds, 13.8@105 mph in the 1/4 mile. 160+mph top end. At least .9g lateral acceleration. Four Piston Brembo brakes and a suspension tuned by by the guy who built the Cadillac CST-Vs that dominated the Speed GT series. Currently, the Cobalt SS holds the record for its class for the fastest ever lap around Nurburgring. It turned an 8:22 lap. That's faster than the best time turned by the Porsche Cayman S, BMW M3, and the Boxter S. Its time is 27 seconds faster than the Euro VW R32. Its 8:22 lap is dead even with the Nissan Skyline GTR R32.

Think about that... a $23,000 , 30 mpg Chevy that looks like it came from a rental fleet, but completely thumps far more expensive iron. The ultimate sleeper.

The only problem with that is that you have to drive a car that looks like this:

so when they came out with the new one i was very happy with the results, i see one in my future.
