Kill Scoring FUBAR

Problems I noticed:

1.  Auto-Ack shoots somebody down, schmuck in tank gets kill.  Please give the kill to nobody, or award it to the person who wrote the Phalanx CIWS AI Code.  Giving the kill to the ack-huggers just encourages more ack-hugging...

2.  Aircraft wrecks tank, tanker exits.  No kill for the aircraft even though he neutralized the tank and forced it to be abandoned on the battlefield.

3.  Airplane is shot full of holes, ditches near enemy field.  No kill awarded.  In real life this was scored as a kill in any air force.

I don't recall all the circumstane, but it did seem that I was not getting the vehicle kills that I should have.

Like Funked says; probably because after I disable the tank, the player simply exited.  I have no clue.

I had this happen this morning:

Was defending a base in a Nikki. Below I see a Nikki and a B26. Figuring the B26 was the real threat I ignored the Nikki and went right for the 26.

I go a few pings on the 26 from directly above. I went under, barrel-rolled around it (see the Nikki coming but I can make it overshoot. Good, plenty of time for 26). I roll under the 26, climb up and hammer him for 3 seconds (no exaggeration) with all 4x20mm's. He laughs, and lazily shears my wings with a half-second burst of .50's. (so much for buff whines!).

Fariz has killed you.

Now before I go any further, I just have to know if he is hurt (no smoke no parts came off, and my connect woes are well-known). I ask if his B26 is hurt, he replies "What B26? I haven't flown a bomber in days!". I ask him where he is. Turns out he was 4 sectors away when he got the kill!

This would explain why sometimes you don't get kills you think you should, eh?

Shot up a P38 that was busting tanks.  Went in, hammered him good, both engines smoking, rudders and long stabilizers ripped off and he does a nose dive within the tanks.  BOOM!  One of the tankers got the kill!  I didn't even get an assist!

Just killed a C205 with snapshot at range 70. Blew wing completly off!  It was 10Bears and he was a fighting like a wildman when I killed him.  "Victory awarded to Blitz"  (Who was fighting also but over 2.5 away).  Even Blitz was surprised!

Normally this dosen't bother me, but 10Bears is a good pilot, and me killing him is extra special to me. (meant as a compliment 10Bears  ) Especially when he was on my 6 and I turned the tables.  I'm not good enough to do this often and I fought my heart out.  Just seems like I'm at my job.  All that work and no credit!!

I was in a Panzer yesterday and a plane crashed near me that was shot down by someone else.  I got the credit!  Very Wierd!  Who Knows, maybe the program must of known I need one to make me feel better!

It just needs worked on, that's all.  Im sure HT knows and he'll fix it.

Agree 100% this is a "capure" at least.

And one more thing... You fire hard to a bomber, he shot you down (as usual) and you, in chute, see how more friendly planes get close to terminate it, the buff (heavily damaged) dives a bit to get enough speed to scape and its wings break. You are not awarded with anything and the closest friendly plane gets the kill without even shooting a single bullet. In this case you are still alive and going down in chute.

Kieren;

I had and even more weird one happen to me last Saturday.  Here is my story and I am sticking to it!

I was in a P-38 and I jumped a B-17 that was being escorted by a 109.  Immediately the 109 went HO to drive me off.  I had tons of smash so I slipped on past and attacked the B-17.

I made my second pass on the B-17 and had not knocked it down yet.  Then I noticed that the 109 had gotten on to my six.  The range was about d1.3 and I figured it was time deal with the 109 and stop worrying about the B-17.  When suddenly the 109 blew up.

So I extended and went vertical over the B-17 to make another pass on it.  I made my guns pass and then I dove under trying to extend.   After 3 passes on the B-17 it appears to be only smoking from one engine.

Then I noticed that the B-17 was shooting at me from its chin gun.  The range was about d450.  I made a hard break and dove, but I am not losing this B-17.  He eventually gets me.

Afterward on a private channel, I ask the 109 driver, "What happened?".  I wondered why he just blew up for no reason.  He told me that I shot him down on my second pass and caused him to blow up.  Well this really confused me, because I didn't think I even hit the 109 nor made two passes at it.

I told him that I noticed his 109 blowing up with it on my six and I did not shoot at him.  Then he told me that he was flying the B-17 and another guy was flying the 109.  Sheesh!

The system reported that I shot down the 109 / B-17 and that the B-17 / 109 shot me down.  Talk about confusion in identities.

I have no clue what really happened.
