I understand what your saying, I average about 3 kills aswell, but I dont understand why 2 kills gets your name in lights, is this the hook to get new players to join? or perhaps to not frustrate people? if it is, keep it the way it is, but i think it would be cool if it said something like, CLONE155 has landed 5 victories, he is now an Ace! and double ace for 10 kills, and so on in that fasion  :)
it gives motivation when they land two kills   ;)

My wish is that when you land kills, it does not end up in lights. But if you get 5 or more kills, then it should show up in lights. This is just because im sick of watching friendlys get 2 kills, and leaving you stranded to go land! And this would also make sence since 5 kills means your an Ace.

This is but a simple wish of a simple man  :)

I find it amusing that no one has noticed the OP has a desire to modify the behavior of others solely to enable him to accomplish the behavior he wishes to modify.

He desires to remove the motivation for some folks to actually land kills in order to enable him to land his kills.

He plainly states he doesn't want to be stranded while they go land, implying he lacks the judgment and/or situational awareness required to recognize a shift in the tactical situation necessitating a prudent withdrawal prior to possible re-engagement.

I would suggest a refresher course in the concept of numerical superiority.

Actually, thats not what I ment at all, and since i dont have anything fancy like a track IR or anything like that, i still DO notice that they are about to swarm me. But i dont run away, i accept that swarm and kill as many as i can

And if you did not like my example, lets try another one, lets say you are in a flight of bombers, flying into the fray to bomb a strategic target. You notice SEVERAL enemy cons, about the same altitude as you are. But you have friendlys up high. They mannage to pick a couple of them, and then run away, leaving the rest to you, whilst you are JUST about to bomb, and right when you are about to drop, your main bomber loses a wing and you are thrown off course.

1st: choose better who's gonna cover you. When possible I give my help to bomber squads and cover them and, as it is for an M3 entering the town, bombers are the barycentre of the mission wich mean theyr "life" is well far much more important than the escort.

2nd: if you'r planning an heavy strike by bombers and you get shotdown there's a lak in the organizzation. If your cover (flying highter) get engaged in a range shorter than 6k you'r death anyway. Yesterday me and a 2nd 190D managed to shot down 8 B17 even if there was P51s and some Ki84 as cover, we just ignored the cover and killed bombers. So get a good bomber leader and a good cover leader. If you wish to learn join the missions planned by the 100th bombs group covered by Talon, cntrl and Colklark.

3th: s.h.i.t happens

2 pence worth....

say if you land 50 (or whatever, insert any number) 2kills  then your name stops coming up in lights..
then u have to land 3kills to get your name in lights say 100 times..once that is reached
you haver to land 4 kills to get your name in lights etc etc etc...then you are being pushed to do it at your own skill level

maybe per tour it resets..
anyway just a thought

I usually can't find enough bandits to empty guns on. I always carry 45+ minutes of gas and 98% of my sorties end because of fuel with practically full ammo boxes.

I guess I ain't flying in the right spot.

P.S. why is it 2 kills any way? what does 2 kills mean? and why not 1 kill then? 5 is a nice number  :)

When it used to be that every time you made a kill it would be broadcasted over the system channel.  This caused the open channel to be spammed with system kill messages every second.  When they changed it that it would only broadcast landed kills of two or more, it quickly cut down on the system spam messages.

thats not a bad idea jimmy!    will drastically reduce Wtg 's on country also and maybe people will be trying a little harder.

Another idea say  I've gone 50 kills without dying and somebody got me.   XXX has ended Bruv's  xxx kill streak.

By the way Factor, well said in your earlier post.  :salute

Was cool way back when the arena was populated a lot lower and every kill came up in the buffer.  Impossible to do now, but it was fun seeing who was on and dispensing the own.
