The railroad from Anchorage to Fairbanks Alaska is about 360 miles. A train goes each direction everyday. When the snow is deep (several months out of the year) they kill an average of at least one moose per run. Alaskans sign up for a roadkill/railkill harvest list/lottery. When your turn comes up you get a call that your moose is at something like mile 222.2. You then get to, and have to harvest it.
