HTC are already aware of the time-to-target problem there is for vehicles, so I won't bother to address that. However, one thing I don't recall HTC addressing is troops in ground vehicles.
Now, I've been plugging this in a few threads already, but decided to post it here, because I feel it would be very beneficial to the game as a whole. It would give players another avenue of field capture if we had the option of carrying the ten troops in armored personnel carriers, ie halftracks. By doing so, the game would be closer to a real war environment, since airborne operations were historically very rarely done.
The benefits would be thus:
- Ground units would be an ends to a means, giving players a real opportunity at field capture from the ground, exclusively. This, in turn, would force air elements to engage them, because not only could ground units close airfields, they could now take it for keeps.
- Air engagements would occur at lower altitudes, because of this ever present danger, which would make it easier on hi alt bombers, because fewer planes would be found at high altitude.
Now, I am only saying that we add troop carrying halftracks, not that we replace paratroop C-47s with such. The airborne element should remain as another option. But, by adding ground troops the fight on the ground will finally have its proper place of importance, requiring a timely response from air elements.
