Try this link: http://kensalter.com/download/alacritypc/current/x86/alacritypc.zip
Make sure you grant any browser or firewall permisions/prompts that may need to be given.  I wish I could help more, but it varies per your own personal computer's setup and active securities programs.

Well I got good news I did all the suggestions give by you guys, except the thing that closes down all the programs running and my lag has stopped I was even able to use the mic.  Hopefully this was not a one night thing. Thanks for all the help and look to see if this post comes up again(in case the lag comes back).

Sorry WRONG AGAIN !  enditall you have to go through all the shut down processes each time you use it. Do you write down all the processes you shut down so that you get them all again the next time?

Alacrity you set it up once and you now have a profile. You drag the icon for the profile to the desk top and your ready to go. I double click my icon, and in less than a minute I shut down 40 processes, defrag my ram and end any programs running or stalled, and the game boots up. When I click "quit" on the game it returns the laptop to its original configuration.

Oh, and it sounds like it worked for extermino  :D

http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,250077.0.html

in the above thread there is a long conversation describing the pro's and con's of both enditall2 and alacrity.

since Xasthur made this post i have been using alacrity with great success. i am very happy with it. i used enditall2 and bounced back and forth between the 2 programs trying to work out some issues i was having. but alacrity in the end won out in my opinion for ease of use stability and problem solving.

i would go into more depth on this issue but i think for the most part it was all covered in the above thread.

go there and check out the conversation.

well DR that is like so much in this world, a users end point opinion.

if enditall2 works well for you then by all means continue using it. in my opinion i like alacrity, so i will continue to use it. either way if our individual choices allow both of us to play the game or opporate our computers with less hassle and headache then <SALUTE> to us both!

Von messa ,

No I do not work for enditall but if you read one of the replies by fugitive you may understand  the response and thank you Flotsom. It really is preference. Both work fine but it takes all of 10 seconds to run enditall2 Fugitive not 1 minute.

My sincere apologies.   I was just wondering, since I've seen you jam a plug for it into 50% of your posts.   :aok

Sry too Von,

I ran both and it is definitely easier for the novice user. Alacrity can ceate profiles so if you run different applications you can customize each profile for each application. Flotsom, Challenge and others seem to like it a lot. The nice thing about end it all is, once you padlock programs it takes 5 seconds to end programs and you are ready to go. I want to apologize in my quick decision to endorse enditall2 but I tried Alacrity and I am computer lirerate although 1 person does not think so. I used both and still prefer enditall2. I suggest to try both. you can always uninstall either one according to personnal preference..... Thanks

I downloaded the enditall program (it was easier to install) but I'm not sure what programs are unsafe to shut down so I was wondering if anybody here knew which things are safe to close down.

Spend some time researching the processes running in the background. By hitting ctrl alt delete then selecting processes u can see whats running. Also take a look at hints and tips from skuzzy's post in the bold.

That's one of the problems with enditall. With Alacrity a mouse over each selection will give you a good idea of what to do with it, and for those that it has no suggestion, a quick google and you'll have an answer. Once you have all of your processes set, save it and your good to go each time you want to play. Set it once, and then each time after that its just a double click to stop all the processes you selected, a quick defrag of your ram, and the game starts.
